I worked vigorously for five days straight. Thank God I made the deadline with plenty of time to spare.This is my version of Sei for 's Sei Contest. At first I didn't this that I was going to be able to enter and honestly wasn't thinking about entering at all.
If anything I thought that my submission would be down right hideous. But on Sunday I really buckled down and made myself come up with something. So here it is.Title: Kurushii no Me. This is Japanese for "Painful Eyes". That's what I felt when I looked at Sei's character discription and drawings.
Concept: Because of his personality and the way that the people around him treat Sei, I felt that I needed to show him isolated somehow. I figured show him diappearing. So I didn't finish the bottom left half of the kimono nor his shoulders for this reason. So yes I did this on purpose.
Kimono: I used a lot of ideas from Kagrra (Japanese Rock Band who I really really love) and traditional kimonos from Google searches. Most of the design came from Ishi.
Smoke: This came from the cover of Clamp's XXX Holic.
That's about it. C & C is always welcome and I am so sorry if this did not come out like Sei Washuuchan. I really tried my best.

I was trying my best to follow the mood that set for Sei and then winged it from there. The eye was easy for me to color and the most fun because it set the tone for everything else in the piece. I'm just happy that you like how this turned out.

I really like how this call came out in such a quick amount of time. I had a lot of fun making this. The only frustration was coloring the hair. The strands took forever, but I like how the hair is coming out in a lot of my works. So I will color this way a lot more.

O.o hmm for some odd reason, I think its just me, but to me the style of your hand seem to have changed slightly.
I really like the cool and softness of this. ^^
The snow really works very harmonious with the character's complexion and hair as if he is part of the snow. Yet, even if he is white, he still stands out. Especially, with the kimono.

This is looking awasome! I have one last little piece of advice, and thats make it smaller, the line is getting pixely, and we want to be able to see most of the image right away. Other then that u did a great job

I'll return the image back to it's original size then. 669x1619. The bigger image was how i originally worked on this. You have helped me so much and I think my watchers are hating me with all of these updates.

Its looking great hon, if you still have time and enery the only other thing is to maybe make the middle of the nose smaller by making the nose holes a little bigger inside, but other then that its lookin great!!!

I'm really happy, because all of the ideas that I want in my pictures and am slowly able to draw them. TwT The colors were prearranged by but I added more ranges of browns, blues and greens. I'm trilled that people are liking my work and understanding the meaning behind what I draw.

But seriously, I was trying to make Sei as close to washuuchan's as possible. The coloring wasn't too too bad this time. The kimono design was a challenge though, but thanks for the luck, I will need all that I can get.

I do have the file up on OC.net. The only problem is that the file is so big becuase in order to get all details I had to draw this on a huge file Then shrink the picture later.

LOL but on a serious note, I thnk that I am going to end up coloring hair this way from now on, . . . unless the picture requires me to color it differently.
As for the kimono. Drawing it was simple, coloring it was the hellish part.
