Today it's midsummer's day in Sweden.To be honest that's not exactly why I strated to work on this pic. The girl herself was a character concept I drew earlier this spring. (Her name is Juni btw, fitting for this month too
) The coloring was suppsoed to be simple, but I wanted to work on something so I decided to go all out on this pic.The dress is inspiréd by traditional swedish folk clothes. The pattern on her skirt is partly a old swedish pattern at well, I saw it and thought'd it'd look nice so I drew it onto the skirt.
The text at the bottom is a summer psalm/hymn named 474 Den Blomstertid [link]
It's a biblical hymn but I am sure it's one of the most well known songs in Sweden. I wanted to add it because it feels like summer for me.
And this pic is all about swedish summer.

Oj oj, jag var i Halmstad. Det var först lite soligt fast man såg monsunmolnen nära, sen när vi åkte bil kom HAGLET som såg ut att kunna döda människorna utanför, sen ösregn, sen skumma regnbågar O.o Men det var intressant väder iallafall, stormiga väder är roligare än gråmulet i alla fall

OOh, this is amazing! You improve all the time. 8) Her hair looks like very good and I love how you have used lines only somewhere, like on her face. It works very nicely, I think. Her dress is very pretty and the pattern on it is just so sweet~8D

Yeah I felt so "YOSH we're doing patterns manually!" haha I think I was going to post a guide how I did the patterns so I screenshotted the entire progress... and then I went like "oh it's just to lame to do that!" so I just didn't bother saving the xD

You were motivated! Nature has a great way of awakening artistic inspiration that way.
I looove the texture and design of her dress, especially the blue areas where it looks like you could touch it and feel the soft material. It looks kinda like silk! The areas where the colors go from blue to green to yellowish green make me think that.
Juni is so cute, she looks like she belongs in the World of Mana. x3
