This is absolutely gorgeous, from the background to his multitude of designs and expressions to his back story, every bit is extremely well designed, well thought out and consistent. I want someone to make a Journey mod and just have Veil floating through those levels, especially the "deep sea" ones... What an amazing character Lan!!!

All the OCD was worth it because this is just such a gorgeous character! I love how much thought you put into the reference sheet as a whole, starting with the ripples up top and Veil sinking down into the depths like the different states of sleep, it's just too beautiful 
Have you played Journey? Cuz now there needs to be a sequel and Veil needs to be the protagonist. This is just a thing that needs to happen!Β
Can I ask how the Walking City works? I checked out the group a bit but mostly saw stuff for this tournament... Is it a world where everyone draws their own comics that take place simultaneously??

It's an original character tournament, but it's already started so you can't enter it. It's also not exactly a group you can join? Like none of the contestants are members in the group but you just submit things if you want to make an OC and be a part of the community. I'm thinking of making a spectator entry, as if Veil was warped to the walking city, but it just won't be considered canon to the tournament.

While the individual art is all great, I love best how you set it up on the background with the underwater coloring and him sinking down, reminds me of Kingdom Hearts "Birth by Sleep" sequence~

The goldfish theme while in dream form just makes me think that it's going to add tragically. But nonetheless is great design for both forms but I can't shake the sense of inevitable DOOM !!
