Materials used:
Indian Ink and Brush (Windsor and Newton University Series size 3)- (for Darth Vader waves and Jaws - I am aware that Jaws was not the shark's name! It was Bruce). Technical pen for the rest and Photoshop for colour. Texture was made by scanning in a blank sheet of paper and layering. All text drawn by hand.

And both had the same visual effects artist Grant McCune. And both from the 70's. ...And both the most sucessful movies at the box office (at the time of release)

Awesome work!

I always thought it was funny that Orca and Jaws came out about the same time (at least as far as I can remember without cheating by using Google.) Each one had a poke at the other in their movies ... Jaws (or perhaps it was the second one) has an Orca with a huge bite taken out of it and Orca had the same done to a shark.

On St. Simons Island, I remember around that time, there was a sort of "Shark Mania" going on. We, as kids, used to go looking for shark's teeth on the beach. My Big Sister used to make shell necklaces and made one of a few teeth I had gotten ... mostly from friends since I was broke. And we even had a kid down the street who had a shark's tooth that was the size of your palm!

Haha, thanks for sharing. I've never heard of "Orca." Not sure what it is. Yeah, Jaws 2 is the one with the dead Killer Whale.

Jaws 1 has the boat called "Orca." I'd like to go looking for shark teeth now, no need to be a child!

Cheers.

I remember a bit of Orca, but I can say that I have not seen it in ages. I think is because it frightened me so badly ... it's probably not a very scary movie, but to me at ten or so, it was.

I wish I could say I still have that necklace still around here someplace.
