I like that you used the seaside and her mermaid form instead of sticking with the original poster.

I haven't seen the movie, but it sounds like it must be similar from what you say about it. Though... it's starting to sound like a book I'd read once, about a girl... I think she found a dress in a trunk or something and ended up in the past. ...I might should try looking up Austenland, sounds interesting.
