Description
Standard road engine for middle-weight freight trains, from the mid-30s on. They were built with a standard tender used by 2-8-0s, though later on in the 40s a number were instead given larger ones for use on heavy mainline traffic. Fitted with 62in(157cm) drivers, could generate up to 57,000lb of tractive effort, and were fitted with a domestically produced feedwater heater called the 'Weller' from new.
