Description
So it's been a while. I have art to publish, but it has been going a bit slowly and frantically. It's a strange situation where I make art faster than I publish it, lol. I like that and definitely prefer it to the opposite. Buuut I'll try to catch up with publishing as well, so you can expect some more art to pop up again these days. For the record, this is still from my July trip to Norway. I have moar XD
This was actually a pretty quick painting (and that's showing), but it's something I've wanted to do for a long while.... They have lived in my mind for a long time yet didn't quite have a proper name.... I think I'll stick with Winter Wolves.... though I thought of another just now, voylak.... it's Slavic. But regardless of the name, they are special to me, even if I know little about them. They are.... I suppose they are spirits.... and they can only ever be seen in winter, in a blizzard, in a snow storm or in snow blown on the wind at night.... they materialize in it, you'd see shapes in the clouds of snow and then they'll become a bit clearer. They are quite spectral and mysterious, but they seem to be guardian spirits. I've only seen them once, I was lost in a blizzard in a faraway land, and they appeared.... I followed them through the storm and they lead me to a place I would never have managed to find without their help. They never spoke nor made a sound, but after the storm passed I thought there were howls in the distance, like echoes, very faint.... So yeah, from what I've heard from travelers, this is what they do sometimes, they just appear from the blizzard and sometimes show the way. Some say they give visions, some feel they bring enlightenment.
This is about as much as I know about them.
This is based on past life memory btw, and so is the painting. Always nice to paint that. I did it over about half hour back in July, in Norway. It was a bit strange to paint a snowstorm on the kitchen table in the middle of the bright Arctic Day, but I thought well, I've always wanted to paint them.
So there it is. Today's story and art. I hope you enjoy.
