Hate to argue, but would say having a wide frame of reference and continually educating yourself is at least as important. Imagination is the best tool, but those two define the budget.

With no creativity those will help at creating technically good looking but empty and hardly engaging images. Meanwhile there are plenty of pieces that lack in those areas but present striking content with simplicity that make people feel things regardless of how well it was drawn.To me imagination is best tool to have and one that can be hardly exercised, everything else can.

Ah! My bad there, think I worded that poorly. While one should always strive to improve skillwise, by "education" I meant in a general sense of learning about the world and cultivating an appreciation for what is. After all, we are not creating in vacuum. Imagination is the best tool - actually a miraculous tool; it multiplies everything it is applied to! - but to apply it in the first place, there must be blueprints and raw materials. Or in Musashi's words, there is no separating the seed from the flower.

My favorite part of drawing and creating artwork is the outlining and coloring. Something you incidentally happen to be really good at! The colors over the monochrome hair and canvas make it really pop out

My favorite part of creating artwork is coming up with the theme, I always like to put a theme in some of my artwork, it might not look like it on my DeviantArt but I'm trying to work on it. Coloring is another one of my favorite parts about creating artwork, I'm trying to practice on how I can use color theory in my art which I'm slowly getting into the hang of it.

I love painting, figuring out where colors go and how the light works on an object and its color, giving the piece an atmosphere and feeling.
