I've got one Ginkgo biloba in my garden too, which is only ten years old It's maybe my favourite plant on earth, and for sure it's the most beautiful tree. And there's a poem by German writer Goethe (maybe you heard of him) about this tree's leaf... wanna hear it? I couldn't find it in Japanese though...Ginkgo BilobaIn my garden's care and favourFrom the East this tree's leaf showsSecret sense for us to savourAnd uplifts the one who knows. Is it but one being singleWhich as same itself divides? Are there two which choose to mingleSo that each as one now hides? As the answer to such questionI have found a sense that's true:Is it not my songs' suggestionThat I'm one and also two?(Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Poems of the West and EastVerse Translation by John Whaley, Peter Lang, Berne, 1998, pp. 260-261)
