Description I like how the background came out. What you are seeing is not a sunset, but the fast that the "sun" that illuminates these cosmic planes that the ahrehk'taur inhabit....is BELOW the plane they are on. Helix and Avant'gard are terraforming one of the super-ethereal planes. I wrote a story about this awhile ago.

Helix is the ahrehk'taur in the lower left hand corner. His quirky personality, free thinking, and odd appearance (even for ahrehk'taurs) caused his to be an outcast in his stand However, once he met Avant'gard (in the upper right hand corner) things got better.

Omg dude, that's damn impressive. I love it. That's better then some of your digital art, and I actually prefer digital art.

Thank you

I should do some more of this kind of art...the reason I haven't is because it's a little harder and requires me to buy more pencils (which I've been too lazy to do...maybe today ) This is still one of my favorites, maybe not the best rendered out of my traditional art (that title would go to Kracko's Vineyard, hands down).

This one still makes me feel more then the one you mentioned though. Not sure why.

Maybe the color, I wanted a little softer look on Kracko's Vineyard, but I didn't hold back on this one, I used every color I could.

You really think so? I kinda feel bad I haven't drawn a lot of Splithia lately My digital painting thing really did make me mad...

I do.
And don't feel bad! Everyone needs a break sometimes. You know my Kraken picture? When I lost the data for that, I didn't touch it for another three months or so. xD

Also, on a tangent, do Diafrillans have teeth? (Random, I know.)

It feels like I've been on a long break, though... A few people are like, "What's with the pokemon? Make with the Splithia!" I lost data for a picture of a creature called an atrooliie...well, the flash drive got stolen (the guy who took it better hope I never figure out who he is...) Anyway, I never attempted it since then.

Diafrillans have sort of an exoskeleton made of a crystal-protein matrix. The jagged parts of the mouth are their incisors and canines for grabbing and tearing flesh (they are what is called a psychedelic predator, which is a predator originating from the Psychedelic World). They have back teeth for grinding that are also crystal protein matrix. In the roof of every diafrillan's mouth is a set of retractable fangs that are used for sucking energy out of creatures and energy bearing stones.

Aw man, that sucks. But take as much of a break as you want, no-one can force you. c:

Woah that's really nifty! Thanks for the indepth explanation <3

Thanks I want to draw a good picture of Helix's first garden (before it got destroyed). The only problem is that his first garden is so complicated that I don't think I'd be able to draw it how I pictured it.

Well, I certainly think you should try because it sounded marvelous But if it doesn't work out, you can still be happy to have created something that defies physical art

LaSpliten In reply to BuboOwl [2009-06-15 21:24:04 +0000 UTC]

Thanks

They are in the Omniverse of Splithia, the universe of Gigerhaus, and since Gigerhaus is organized into planes (instead of planets and solar systems)...they are on an unnamed plane that is higher than the others they know of.

Hmm...maybe you should make a map of the Omniverse.

wow, i love how you colour your art
but a question, do you do it digitally or with coloured pencils, oil pastles.. what?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LaSpliten In reply to k-kipper [2009-06-14 07:59:49 +0000 UTC]

This particular one was done with prismacolor pencils (which are oil based colored pencils). This is what I use for most of my hand drawn color pieces, although I will sometimes use watercolors or crayons.
I do have quite a few photoshop and mspaint pieces, though...now that I have a tablet to work with.
