I'd love to rock one of these on the field ( perhaps a different color, and the wool would seem to be too thick and hot for hours of fighting ) How much would you charge for an outfit like this? Again, your stuff is awesome

Very interesting concept. I like the idea of combining materials and design styles... I have been mixing some too. I have Japanese hakama and other styles from several countries that I fuse together ^^

I love how this pulls together. The colors and drapey shoulders make me think celtic, but the pants are Japanese.

Where did you find the loden wool fabric? I'm trying to locate some without much luck.

Loden is a traditional material over here in Austria (and surely other countries, too). If you seriously want direct links to German/Austrian online shops who offer this, email me. I'm happy to help with translation, if babelfish doesn't do the trick.

Be warned ahead, though: Loden is not cheap. Depending on quality and thickness it may cost from 20 Euros per meter up to 60 or even more.
Plus there'd be high shipping costs, I imagine.

Its the little details in your outfits--the belt-thing (I'm sure it has a fancier name, haha), the sleeves--that make them for me. Looks snuggly!

Well on a Japanese Hakama they're called Himo (which just means a cord) and we like the word so we call them that too.
There are a whole bunch of different ways you can tie them; maybe we'll do a how to guide at some point.

Ahhh, that is awsome! Looks so comfy!

I suppose you wouldn't tell me who your fabric supplier is would you? ^_^

Lastwear In reply to nolwen [2007-12-07 02:53:29 +0000 UTC]

I'd love to but this particular fabric is the last roll of an odd lot. I got 75yds of it and then there's no more left
I'm trying to source some more of this at the moment but so far no luck. It's very hard to come by felted wool.
For out canvas and twill we go through Sew ecological but they have a 100yd minimum order so I don't know if that helps you much.

I like that hakama, but the real cool touch I feel is that shoulder wrap with the brooch!

Thanks, It was a piece I'd cut for a wash test that I had lying around. I threw it on because I was cold and then I was like "hey, this looks great".
