You know that he can launch drones on the US whenever he feels like, he hasn't yet, but its legal.

That's why we have the 2nd. Can't take us all on. Plus the government protects the people, not the President, by definition in the Constitution.Β

Fair point. I gotta love that 2nd amendment. There's a guy down in Texas that's handing out drone hunting licenses too, I might go get one. Drones are also supposed to reach the civilian market soon.

I'll never forget what he does. Bad things.
A Song:
Pop shots from dawn to dusk, when the Obama invites you to the party.
Our troops are away! In Afghanistan, Iraq or Syria
Thanks USA...
for Obama is tough
fighting for (not) the humanity in every way,
with guns and spies, with money and lies.
Who is going to get as the next development?
Obama, the friend of the students,
paid the National Student Association.
Obama is not stupid,
He helps the students in the study.
I went to the union, to cast my vote and i asking from the political system.
Then a keen eye saw through the slot to me.

This implies that Iraq really fucked over the US Army when, in actuality, the Yanks lost fewer than 5000 troops and achieved what they wanted.
Now I'm not an expert, but under 5000 casualties and a few hundred vehicle losses is not that hard to take for the military of a heavily industrialized, highly populated nation with a history of warfighting. More Americans were killed in the Battle of the Bulge, in one month of fighting, than in the entire "war" referred to in this picture.
Look, whether or not you support the resistance fighters in those two countries is not my business. But don't exaggerate their importance; they're just a bunch of peasants running around with small arms and they haven't a clue about what they're actually doing. They are not a serious threat to the US military.

This makes me laugh, i hate obama with a passion. this war should end tomorrow. i just got back from afghanistan a month ago, i was there for a year, and i can say this war will never be won. its a waste of money and more importantly a waste of americans. maybe it was the area i was in or my chain of command but the rules or engagement were fucking ridiculous! we were watching the predator feed and they saw guys digging and placing ieds in the road, they were told to hold fire and then the guys ran off. the next day the marines that were attached to us hit that ied and killed 3 soldiers and fucked up two marines all because of this pussy ass shit "winning the hearts and minds" if you send us to war you should at least let us defend ourself! all afghani's should be shot on site, they are all terrorist! those events are the reason i will be getting out of the army in 5 months. i believe in going to war for the right reasons and this isnt one.

Well what the fuck are YOU pissed about? You come into OUR homeland when we have kids picking up guns screaming for you to get out of our land because you murdered their parents and called it "collateral damage", and you stay there and wonder why no one likes you! America wants to be the police of the world because they are so self centered, but they cant because they never worry about their own damn problems!
And that all Afghanis being terroists thing is bullshit! Did you actually expect to ENJOY your time in a country during a state of war??? OF COURSE you wont see the good side of a country if you fight a war there! Americans keep trying to police the world and feeding wars everywhere, and because Americans have only seen the world in war, you try to make the most negative stereotypes possible without looking at the good parts!
Take a trip to Dubai, Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Amman, Muska-OH WAIT! These muslim cities are too expensive and high class for you to ever dream of going to! So stay in your little isolated country full of racist assholes and leave the rest of us alone.
And I dont speak from some politician's opinion, Ive been to America, and everything is dirty, everywhere is crime infested, the people there have no respect for their elders, people there will attack someone for absolutely no reason, and you people are SOOO stupid that you can only speak one language when youre surrounded by spanish, french, and german! and then YOU have the nerve to judge people who dont speak English very well!
You people always say that the Middle East, China, North Korea, Russia, etc. will cause the end of the USA, but the truth is that you will end yourselves. Ive met Americans who would point at Alaska and think it is Germany, or ones who cant even find RUSSIA on a map, who dont even know how to contain their alocoholism, racism, and religious intolerance enough to not yell it out outside!
Your country is illiterate as fuck while the rest of the world is growing, you will destroy yourselves before North Korea, china and/or iran nukes you...
If you want people to like americans, maybe you shouldnt say racist things like that, and maybe you wont get any racist things back!
As-selam alaykum!

You both sound like ignorant people... Thinking every Afghani person is a terrorist is just plain stupid. I'm sorry but that's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen, and I'm scared to think that someone like you was given use of a weapon. And to the other guy, I don't know what part of America you went to, but most of it isn't just a dirty, crime-infested cesspool like you think. Every country has its good and bad parts. You're making a big generalization there, just like the racist before you did. So you are no better than he is in my opinion. Many Americans speak more than one language, as it is a requirement to learn one in high school and college. Every country has good and bad people as well; you are just focusing on the small percentage of morons in this country and acting like every single person here is that same way. Both of you, please grow up.

Short-term memories, much?
Did Obama not declare this intent from the start of his campaign? Was it not to focus on Afghanistan? You know, the only legitimate reason The Coalition has be in the Middle East?
I see a president doing what he set out to do.
Does that make me a sheep? Naw, I'm not an American, so my opinion doesn't matter in American affairs.
Whatever super-agenda the Ingsoc Party has in mind, I don't care. As long as I can medically help people - that'll never change (we can believe in).

He said he'd send troops to Afghanistan from the start of his campaign. He's doing exactly what he said he would here, and its the right thing to do, too. Unlike Iraq, Afghanistan has been a legitimate target from the start, and it remains so today. Furthermore, if we abandon the Afghan people to the abominable Taliban, we would be doing them the greatest disservice possible.

Seeing as we never finished the job in Afghanistan, and we had every right it invade Afghanistan (Iraq is debatable i will not deny that). He should at the very least finish fixing that country, if nothing else. Besides to some other claims made, Obama does not equal bush we voted Obama in for that very reason, McCain=Bush, that's why he lost the election! seesh...

Vicodin-something In reply to 1tyler [2009-02-24 18:22:17 +0000 UTC]
What is this "job" needs to be finished? It's not possible to destroy multinational terrorist groups by running around blowing up caves in the middle east. Every town we bomb we create hundreds more people who hate the USA, and rightfully so. Would you be angry if someone bombed your town, killed your parents? Would you vow to spend the rest of your life fighting the people who did it? We are simply creating more senseless war and a bigger enemy for us to fight in the future. It's war profiteering plain and simple. If there isn't a war then there isn't a reason for us to keep increasing military spending, there aren't any military contracts to give out to billion dollar corporations, and there isn't anything for the press to talk about to allow them to continue to ignore serious domestic issues like the fact that the Federal Reserve is robbing all of us blind.

Why so many political cartoons with this singular message of troops in Afghanistan? I think they're (the cartoons) all interesting in their own right, but it just seems like you could find something else to draw about. Also, I think the depiction of movement of troops directly from Iraq to Afghanistan is somewhat inaccurate, as troops deployed in Iraq will not be asked to fulfill their deployment time divided between each country. Ignoring any National Guard or Reserve members, our standing military forces are around 1,200,000 enlisted, and last I read the increase in Afghanistan will be 12,000 initially & 5,000 more later, so 17,000 long term.
