I don't agree with it at all, they're two completely differnet things. And i'm sick of all this anti-american crap, you should be glad your in a country that has freedom of speech, rather then abusing it. On the other side, i like your compostion and blending of the background.

Just becaue you're an ignorant wuss who's convinced war is terrorism, doesn't mean the UN or the Geneva Convention feel the same. War is recognized legally by the rest of the world, while international terrorism is not. Get a dictionary, kid.

I never said I liked the UN, dipshit. As much as I despise the UN, I was only reminding you that they obviously aren't considering us the "terrorists", or else they would have stopped us by now. Luckily, America kicks ass, and we do no wrong. Now, go back to eating vegan food and jerking off to Michael Moore movies.

I want you to go find a DVD called Noam Chomsky's "Distorted Morality: America's War on Terror?" He's one of the many philosophers and theorist qouted in teh world. Top 20 I believe. He's up there with Karl Marx, Shakespeare and the Bible (both Testaments). He is basically saying that "Logically there shouldn't be a war on terrorism." Terrorism being an idea or platform for speaking of the extremist viewpoint. SInce we, the west, have practically ignored their appeals an request, they must resort to even brash and damning actions, such as September 11th Strikes. So basicaly what CHomsky is saying is, how can you fight a war on an idea? Its like fighting the war on poverty. Who wins? WHo looses? Poverty? Poverty isn't an abstract entity like anohter country. Its is an economic status that a whole ot of people would rahter not be in, unfortunately, they are in it. Look at the minorities here in the US. They are living in squalor! SO, how can one say, we are fighting terrorism with the full force of the UNited States military, when terrorism is a last resort for people who have no other means of communicating in a meaningful way?
It is obvious that ~dssjoker, who ever this person is, has practically no experience as to what war does to people. It is clear in his statement that he'd rahter kill another person over there from far away then watch it on cnn or the history books. He'll read it, or watch it or say that "its terrible" but he is desensitized from it. I bet if he was drafted, sent off to the front lines and be shot at for a reason taht everybopdy seemed to believe in and realize that it was a mistake to be there and he'll be crying for his mother...then I'd be glad to hear what he has to say! I'm sure it'll be interesting. Maybe maybe not. Also, it is obvious in his little obtuse statement, that hs has personally never had his freedom directly infridnged. I've had my freedom infrimged multiple times in my family history. My father fought in WWII and he was taken as a POW by the japanese, forced to walk the death march, incarcirated and his own father cme and rescued him. No he has braggin rights about freedom. dssjoker, does not. In the late 1960s to 1986, we've had a totalitarian regime, which may I add was supported openly by the United States, and I was caught in the tail end of that. Even then it was extremely bad for me and my family sicne pro democracy movements were starting to take shape. The basic freedoms were totally being suppressed by Ferdinadn Marcos and it took a revolution to take him out of power and install a democratic one. dssjoker, hasn't had this happen to him. SO before we start flinging insults and ignorant comments about one another, let's find out who they really are first. Because this is where dischord and friction eminate from folks, the mistrust of foreign ideas and peoples contray to our own.
As for you piece. It is a marvellous piece. Its clear and well composed. I like the fact that both "him" and Saddam are under the word terrorists, becasue they are international terrorist. If waging war isn't a terrorist ideal, then correct me otherwise. But for now, int he US Army field manual it clearly states that "Terrorism is the calculated use of force to attain a certain political goal." This Iraqi Freedom" crap and "Enduring freedom" it still falls under terrorism. WWII is terrorism and counter terrorism. If you bring misery and suffering to another civilian population to the point of its self annihilaition while you your self are sitting comfortably in a house somewehre, then you are a terrorist. Any supporter of the Iraq war and the Afghanistan campaign, is a terrorist.
Again, great piece and concise I wish you more good fortunes in producing more of these.

I joined this forum just so I could post how unbelievably stupid this sign is. Not only technically, but its meaning too. The only reason you have the right to make your own idiotic posters is because of WAR, you would still be more than likely ruled by a king who would cut your head off for making something like this if it wasn't for your hated WAR. How do you think you got your human rights? Peace negotiations? I don't think so. Do you think we just got all the rich people to give up their land in England/US because they thought it was the right thing to do? Maybe you should get your nose out of photoshop and read a history book. Do you think we have a stable country and you don't have to worry about florida bombing georgia or vice versa like you do overseas, because we all laid down our weapons and broke out the peace pipe? It is because of war that you have everything you have now.
To anyone who posted this was technically great, black and white with red as a signifier, hmmm that's not a text book classic....

This looks kinda good, but it doesn't strike me as stunning or anything. Needs something else, although I do not know what it is. From a strictly visual point of view there is only one thing that I consider a flaw. It is a small thing, but the UN-car has a little blur next to Bush's neck. This looks a little strange. Otherwise it is nice, although I do not agree with the political message in it. Oh yeah, the thing about the text is a good idea which really works in this image, and the simplicity is what makes this image work well.

Excellent. Simple and clean, and oh so controversial. I enjoy this piece for the sheer brutal honesty of it. WAR IS TERRORISM. In fact, in our so called WAR against Afghanistan, we killed more innocent civilians than were killed in the WTC attack. Sad but true. Who is the bigger monster?

*nuozek : "when they have these nuclear weapons, and are trying to use them.."
What about this:
"One year after President Bush labeled Iraq, Iran and North Korea the "axis of evil," the United States is thinking about the unthinkable: It is preparing for the possible use of nuclear weapons against Iraq." LA Times, January 26.
If preventing use of nuclear weapons is the reason for going to war, then why the hell is the US Department of Defense (offense!) even considering using them themselves!

nuozek [2003-01-30 14:21:11 +0000 UTC]
The message is poweful, however if we dont do something about it.. when they have these nuclear weapons, and are trying to use them.. people are gonna ask why we didnt do anything, why we didnt go to war, he isnt going to give the, up peaccefully.. its a sticky situation, sadly the only result is war..
I hate it as much as you, theres just no other way.

Umm... how do we stop terrorist's who call our nation the 'Great Satan' from terrorizing unless we wipe them out? If there were another means that would actually work then maybe this poster would make some kind of decent point.
π: 0 β©: 0
drworm [2003-01-28 07:47:25 +0000 UTC]
Well. first, I like the poster and especially the montage part, which is done particularly well.
Second, seeing as this has become a place to voice ones oppinions on the war on terror (heh, first George calls terrorism war, then he goes and declares war on terrorism) I would like to point out that it wasn't the Iraqi's who flew into the Twin Towers, but somehow all the attention has magicaly shifted to them. First George want's Saddam to let weapons inspectors in, so, after a while, Saddam let's them in. but no, that's not good enough. then he wants them given more access to places and scientists. and after an even longer while, Saddam gives them a little more access. And even though they aren't finding anything George still says it's there and that they are going to kill everyone if he doesn't kill them. Atmitadly I think Saddam has got stuff hidden away under his bed, but I'm sure the US has plenty more "weapons o' mass destruction" hidden away, and they're probably more deadly too. anyway I could go on for ages (like the US not wanting N. Korea to even have nuclear powerplants, and how many nukes does the US have?) but that should do it I think.
(ps I, in no way, support Saddam. or George for that matter)
