Oh I would love to learn to animate and see if I could draw these things moving. DC dragons or not, these are one of my favourite critters to draw.

When I don't have a scanner, I usually take a picture and paint over the pencil sketch, since I fail at digital sketching. xD;

c: Even those of us who seem to know what we're doing (heaven only knows why I am included in this category) do the random dodge/burn thing. It works, and it's way easier than shading with opposite-color-transparent stuff.
This makes me want to go steal a bunch of Skywing eggs again.

Oh yes. Specially since I'm not used to cell shading YET, so it just makes it easier. Although, I'll have to find a tool that has a similar effect...without totally oversaturating the picture. X3

The best thing I've found is to lock the layer with just the dragon (or whatever) colors on it and get an almost transparent brush with black. Takes some getting used to, though, and I am usually far too lazy. XD
