Description I love this picture, she's very Eowyn-ish. This is a character of mine stuck in my head and given the base name Armynel although not from a Tolkien language (it's actually a French name meaning "woman of the army") and I've yet to find a suitable equivalent in Sindarin which has a similar meaning AND sounds pretty but I haven't really tried that hard. Anyway, that's by the by.

Pencil sketch, she's wearing the emblem of Gondor because she is really I suppose, a Gondorian version of Eowyn because why should those Rohan girls get all the fun? Baaad description, I'm sorry, blame the coffee.

Great work. I liked the flying hair and the mailcoat (it seems very hard to do). At first I thougth she was Éowyn as princess of Ithilien. Anyway, I'm very intereted in her background if exist one. ; )

Nice. She looks so sad, as in anticipation of the battle.

"It's actually a French name meaning "woman of the army""
I'm French, and I've never heard it... + doesn't look like a French name... weird...

That is strange! It's in my names dictionary as it being a popular name during the 16th century and I chose it also because I think it looks quite Tolkien-esque rather than French. It's odd.

Just checked... guess what? You were 100% right! "A woman of the army. The feminine form of Armand." Armand is pretty famous, still used in some aristocratic families, but I had never heard Armynel before (I saw one website on which it was said to be a male name, but I don't think this one can be trusted (it gave a wrong translation of my name)).
I apologize for my stupid remark.

Absolutely beautiful. I love the hair, expression, and attire especially (wait, isn't that all of it? Yep! ). I always love seeing your art and your passion for Tolkien and his languages.
