It's kinda like a dream within a dream. With a little inception into Kishimoto's mind, it might even become a reality, in which case, I'ma let you finish, but this could be the biggest spoiler of ALL TIME! OF ALL TIME!!!

This really is impossible for me to simply explain in my deviation summary, so, instead, I'll link you to the comment essays that StateKunoichi and I made, discussing this possible theoritical-within-a-theoretical event: [link]
In a nutshell, according to my theory-within-a-theory, Sai has always been an Uchiha, and when he awakens his Sharingan way down the road, the Kyuubi ends up transferring to him instead of Sasuke (who is the current container of the developing half of the Kyuubi chakra which had originally been sealed in Minato, and thus now that Minato the Jinchuuriki has been dead for 16 years, it is now reincarnating inside the youngest Uchiha). Since Sai is younger than Sasuke, his Sharingan ends up triggering the possession, and since he's never learned how to manage his emotions, especially that of anger and hatred, he's an easy victim to fall to the Kyuubi's power. It'd really suck for poor Sai if that happened, but it'd make for a pretty kick-ass plot twist. I wish I could explain in more detail, but it'd be an entire essay. As for technical commentary, I'm still trying to capture motion within my work, to make my drawings a little less stagnant. I kept the sketch in my final image... so where it looks sloppy, that's the original sketch. I like doing that to my pieces : P It keeps some of the original life in it, from creation to completion.

The theory is interesting, but you got oooooone little fact wrong. Sai is 17, so he's older than Sasuke, by a year. I don't know if that benefits the outcome of the theory at all, though. But it's just one correction that had to be made. If you need character references, you can probably find the official ones all over the net. And since Im such a Sai nerd, I had studied his reference sheet many times before, so I could depict him a little more accurately through art or whatever. But yeah, anyway... point of the comment is that you got that info a little backwards. Cx

and that sasuke is sixteen...
and plus, danzo said that sai was "CLOSE to naruto uzumaki in age"...

Peoples' online versions of the "data book" only tell his birthday, not his birth year. That's why I was confused as to his age. Danzou told Sai that he was Naruto's age, so that made me very confused. You can stop that tone of voice now.

Oh my. That actually makes sense. He doesn't know who he is, he's been in roots since forever. Roots was tied up in the whole Uchiha massacre...... Yeah.

God, I love this. I think you captured the emotion of "fear" on Sai really well. It still looks a bit awkward on his face (in my opinion. Maybe I'm just used to Sai only smiling and scowling) as well as his body language, but that may also be because he's beginning to show those emotions on his face and this one is also new to him, which still gives it a nice touch.
And wow, I read your response to my comment and unfortunately haven't had the time to respond to that since I've been busy. But what I will say in this comment is while I don't believe Sai would be the next Kyuubi vessel, it sure would be an awesome plot twist I wouldn't expect (but now we all know, so it's not a twist anymore! 
And I alos think Sai won't see the end of the series, either, and will die an honorable death of a shinobi and as a real friend. Now I'm really going to miss him!

You know, you may be right. I don't have the actual data book in my hand, but I see a few people posted some things from the data book and they say he's 17. Oh well, there went that awesome idea... unless Sasuke dies, of course, and then Sai will be in the same pickle! : D

I am going to read all that, because I used to debate with my cousin about those kind of things, we wrote whole books basically.
As for the drawing - I think it looks really good, the expression of Sai is really grasping. I like his face and his hands the most. The skin tone is actually pretty good, I do see the skintones, they are just very subtle but they are there, and I think that's just right because red is a dominant colour, so naturally his skintone would fade away a little.
I love the colours you used overall, I can't stop looking at it ;u;
