Beautiful poetry. I think this one says a lot about you..the tension is really strong. My favorite part

if

and then "Your day of beauty is tissue paper slim." This moment is so fragile.

God, that if is great.

Buy a little spray bottle at a crafts store (mine was $.69). Fill with a glaze of cheap Spanish olive acrylic and glaze medium. Spray!

Thank you! I am writing this down in my sketchbook for future reference..I've got two spray bottles from when we did a wet charcoal segment in drawing..I think those will work.

Test your spray pattern on scrap before approaching your work. Don't ask me how I know that!

Hey, thanks. Glad you like. I love found poetry. There is a freedom in the found that is not there in the made up, I find.

An added boost of creativity because you have to work with the boundaries of what you've found. Really cool stuff. Have you tried doing similar things with found objects? Back when my father was heavily active in the mail art stream, they did a project that involved the filling/trading of glass bottles with found objects from the big cities..New York, Boston, Tokyo, Montreal...etc. The results were really beautiful..poetic in their own way. Actually sort of similar to 7panels in their collaboration methods.

I love the bottle idea! And with the city theme, it's even more fun. Did the bottles ever show together as a collection?

I can see my postal guy not digging the glass, though. He always capitalizes the word "Fragile" when he does the questioning thing. Why is she mailing all this stuff around the world, I am sure he is asking himself.... I collect objects and keep them in a big tin. This fall I am going to learn to make metal birds and books, so their time will come.

I believe they did, at an informal sort of gathering. We still have one sitting on our window sill. I think it is the one mainly filled with New York objects.

The postal service is sadly not as it used to be. It used to be much more lenient, even in the '90s. One could even mail a chair as is, and it would get to its destination. But with all of this terrorism paranoia stuff, everyone suing everyone else, and the decline of the postal system in general, the postal guys are much more strict about what they will mail.

I can't wait to see what you do with your found objects though! I have one of those tins as well.

Thank you. Great to see you around here again. Assuming the corridors of higher learning are locked for the summer? Sending you a good old Alice Cooper "School's Out" vibe.
