so i finally got my hands on a tablet and adobe photoshop... i don't really know how to use either too well yet but as they say, practice makes perfect? maybe, maybe not.Related content

yah, for sure. i think that maybe digital art just isn't my bag, i dunno. also, the screen on my laptop is broken so i have the image hooked up to my tv... unbeknownst to me at the time, the stupid tv screen was facing away a bit, so the entire picture is skewed, lol! if you look at it from the right a bit, you'll see what i mean, heheh

Neat! Did you draw all of that in PS, or did you colour ballpoint pen lines? Β°uΒ°
Anyway, thereΒ΄s still room for improvement! Especially the shading. You should use more varied colours to shade, not just a darker version of the base colour. Instead of darker shades of blue, try using lilac to purple or so. Grey also works well with Kisame. And depending on the environmentΒ΄s light, skin can have basically any colour >w>
Also, the hair wants some highlights Γ²___Γ³
Btw, did you just make a new layer over the lines and drew over it? .___.
ItΒ΄s much better if you duplicate the background layer. Then double click background layer, change its into "Layer 0" and set the top layer on multiply mode. That way, you can even colour pencil lines without drawing over the lines, and it works with .png, .jpeg, whatever floats your boat >w>
Still, Kisame looks very good for the first attempt at colouring. I like the way you used the complimentary colours. And his abs, of course, hehe. Smexy blue guys >w>

thanks for the tips! my coloring skills are pretty rusty... been using a single black pen for sooo long, heheh! anyways, yah i drew the whole pic on PS. Kinda got frustrated with it before it was 'done' so it looks pretty sketchy. Oh well. I'm already drawing another pic, with a real background this time. And hopefully I'll be able to get a little more creative with the colors ^^

ItΒ΄s funny how your other abilities kinda fade if you concentrate on one single style or material for drawing, right? XD But IΒ΄m sure youΒ΄ll get back into it soon... there are also many people on DA whose linearts are free for coloring, as a kind of collab, I guess... those are fantastic for practise, because you wonΒ΄t grow frustrated with the pic before youΒ΄ve even started coloring if you use pre-made lines, hehe^^
... background? Β°_____Β° WhatΒ΄s a background, is that something edible or what? XD
Just slap on all the colors until it looks good. ALL. DEM. COLORRRRRRRZZZ. XD
