Description She looked to Joker, and saw the gun pointed at his temple. Harley's breathing once again stopped, her own mind going into survival mode, but it was his survival she cared about. No she didn't care about herself or Batman. If she pushed the trigger, then she'd blow Joker up right there with him. She'd never do it, he had to have known that, she'd never risk his life. No, never. She could never be the one to kill the Joker. She moved to stop him, lips parting to say something, but once again she froze, froze at the right time maybe. Harley's own blue eyes never once leaving Batman's. She let out a small cry when she felt Joker come up behind her, the gun once again drilled into her temple. This part wasn't a game to her just yet so the reality of a loaded gun coming towards her temple, with him behind it scared her. She trashed a little bit, trying to play at the Batman's morals. It wasn't trying as much as she was honestly scared, unsure if going face to face with the Batman would actually make him pull the trigger. She also hadn't gotten the soothing pet or sign to know he was just joking. It was her face, it haunted those who saw it at times too. A beautiful woman with crystal blue eyes, painted and stylized to look like this mad man, it was scary to look at her with the black around her eyes, looking like she'd been sobbing. Maybe even unwillingly taken from her life as a doctor at Arkham. Now she wondered what it was like, bullet through the skull would feel like. If she even feel anything. Not like death at Joker's hands wouldn't be an ideal death for her. Now they called Batman's bluff, would he actually let Joker kill his favorite toy. Big blue eyes of hers now pledging, just to let them pass.

He kept his hand steady on the gun, moving slowly as Batman seemed to comply with that usual stoic face. Joker would keep his arm locked in that manner so to keep the gun aimed squarely on her. His mask did little to hide the complete and total devotion to his plan before he'd be caught off guard by that graveled voice.

"Go ahead. Shoot her. I'm not letting you leave."

There was a wave of awkwardness at that. Joker looked perplexed at this, and he briefly thought that he had suddenly broken down Batman. A look of complete glee crossed his face and he'd almost give a accompanying bow towards the man. "Alright. As you wish." Another rough prod at Harley's head, and his finger flirted with that trigger happily. Swelling up at the thought of killing in the name of the great Dark Knight, he'd command the trigger to squeeze. But he didn't. He simply stood there, nothing happening and trying to wash away the sudden panic as he again built himself up to pull the trigger and splatter Harley all over The Bat. He narrowed his eyes at Harley ,coming closer to her and keeping his hand tightly on her shoulder, barrel sliding up to give a more upward arch. Brow's narrowed through the caked grease paint. "Last chance to back out."

"I'm waiting."

The shot never came, Joker simply glaring at Batman with a look of complete rage. His emotions being eaten alive by the dogs of madness in his head. He couldn't shoot Harley. He couldn't shoot Harley. And the god damn Bat knew it. Jaw locked, Joker said nothing only glowering now.

"You were right Joker. No man can stop you. But apparently a woman can. Dr. Harleen seems to know how to get through to you. I could have taken down your van the night at the zoo, but I didn't. I couldn't believe it myself, but something about this woman's softened you up. You didn't hate Arkham, you said it yourself. You did it for Harley. This whole week has been you show boating for your new beau. But people are getting hurt, and I'm going to make you stop. Give it up Joker. If not for your own sake, do it for Harley's."

Harley's eyes widened. She couldn't believe it, had he actually just said that. Shoot her. Harley's heart stopped and she closed her eyes almost accepting her own fate. Harley's body up against Joker's she found feel his heart thud against her shoulder blade. She could feel the little bits of tension in his arm when he went to squeeze the trigger. But nothing. Harley knew that gun, that gun would never jam or misfire. That gun was her baby, the same one she took a life with. She braced herself, even if it was stupid, how do you brace yourself for a shot gun blast right to your head. She heard Joker's voice, one last chance, this didn't go down like last time, the guards willingly let Joker into the Asylum before they got to the count of three, but Batman was playing mind games with him. She was still begging Batman to do something, to back down, to just let them go. Gravel filled voice answered, it was almost as cold and malice filled as Joker's had been. Now she waited, waited for the bullet to enter her brain. She wanted to grab at Joker though, hold onto his hand well he did it. It was a sick and disgusting desire, but if she was going to die well then she'd want part of him close to her. She couldn't see the look on his face, couldn't see how there was an epic battle going on inside of him. Then The Batman spoke, and Harley's eyes opened up, she listened to every word. Her heart thudding so loudly Joker if he wasn't feeling it could hear it. Had she really softened him up, no that's not right, Joker's a killer. He'd kill her, she knew that, she never forgot that. But then she started to put the pieces together, the night she slapped him after crying so very openly for him because of how he got his scars. He could have broken her neck. Harley still stood by he should have, but he didn't. He didn't even put up a fight when the guards pulled him off her. She was so careless around him, but he gave her no reason to not be careless. Harley's eyes softened, oh god. He was right, he'd gone after Arkham because of Harley. Shaking her own head as her eyes lulled shut again, she realized, he was right. And that she might have a choice but to blow them all sky high.

Joker's form seemed to balk, as he'd seem lost for the first time in awhile. Not sure of where to go, what to do, he still found that killer in screaming. He couldn't watch Harley die. He couldn't even imagine watching the life bleed from those blue eyes. Licking at his lips violently, hand clamping tightly on her shoulder, Joker came to a cross road. Using her shoulder to guide her to turn towards her, an exasperated look on his face seeming defeated. This entire spree's catalyst now looking him in the eye, J seemed lost for words. Seeing the thought in her head before she could make it, he took the trigger from her and simply shook his head. "No. No Harley. He's right. I can't look at you and kill you." A sigh came from him, and he looked up to the dingy ceiling before settling right on her. A quirky look took over him, and he'd speak with a heavy amount of solemn in his voice. "I.. can't.. look at you." And he'd start forward, shoving her squarely back into Batman with all the strength he could muster shoving that bubbly blonde.Throwing her to the wolves so to speak, that man would quickly back out of the room and move to find the first thing he could think of. Clasping a wrench, he slide it up into his hands and moved to rush at Batman when he started to exit the room. Naturally there was a dodge, but not fast enough. Thick metal object making a sickening clunk as it hit him in the shoulder and pushed him back into the room. Joker's back up hadn't included a second soul trapped in that room, but he did little to care currently. A single violently crack of the wrench against the rusted switch would call the layers of sheet and metal to rain from the sky down, down infront of that door and blocking the exit. And from there, Joker was out of sight, out of mind, leaving the two trapped in that room. Harley being a lamb as usual, though this time of the sacrificial type.

I really like this image... But what's going on with Joker's left hand...? One half is in a glove, the other is bare...?

Nope. Joker has both gloves on it is Harley clutching onto his arm because well he's got a gun to her head she still clings to him.

Thank you!

Photoshop to me is much more relaxing I have one or two pictures to play with and I can take as long as I want.

Rachel disappeared with a lot of sizing Harley to about Rachel's size in the image. Even if I imagine Harley being much smaller then Rachel. I always play Harley as about 5'2 [and wearing like five inch heels] and weighing about 100lbs. Then I place another layer that was Joker's arms over her chest and covered up whatever was left of Rachel. Those are Rachel's hands though.
