Description

Envy: I would have to give this sin to SpaceGodzilla; Envy is the hatred for one's success and the desire to ruin them. SpaceGodzilla hates Godzilla with a passion for being the current King of the Monsters, and takes great pleasure in tormenting him both physically and mentally (by harming his son) every chance he gets.

Gluttony: Honestly, I thought of giving this sin to the Skullcrawlers at first, but then I decided to give it to Orga; This sin applies to overconsumption of anything, and Orga tried to consume Godzilla whole in order to become a perfect clone of him... which ended up being his own undoing.

Greed: This sin definitely goes to Megaguirus, she is just so greedy and power-hungry at stealing Godzilla's energy. Once she got a taste of Godzilla's radioactive energy, she will stop at nothing until she has gotten all of Godzilla's power! And just like Orga, Megaguirus' greed is what ended up costing her life at the claws of Godzilla.

Lust: Okay, I don't think this sin fully applies to the MUTO, but it's the closest one can get to a sin like this, and I don't know many other kaiju who have this type of sin; Lust is the desire for pleasure, but traditionally includes all other sins of physical desire or luxury (such as drug addiction), not just sex. The MUTOs did what they did more out of love than actual pleasure, but I'm still giving it anyway, even though they don't fully deserve it.

Then again, the two MUTOs in the 2014 movie were also siblings (they were bother & sister both born from MUTO Prime)... which means they committed incest.

Pride: I give this sin to the MonsterVerse King Ghidorah (mostly the middle head); Pride is the desire for attention. This is possibly the most vile of the Seven Deadly Sins, it was the one that corrupted Satan as it involves placing yourself above God and all others. In fact, pretty much every villain, in part, is motivated by Pride — the idea is, they'd make things work better than what's going on now. There is no debate here, King Ghidorah temporarily overthrew Godzilla and took control of the other titans to do his bidding, and will kill anyone/anything that tries to oppose him, enough said.

Sloth: As odd as it may seem, I give this to the Anime Ghidorah from the Godzilla Anime Trilogy; Sloth is the lack of desire to actually do some work. The Anime Ghidorah is an extra-dimensional entity who can only enter our dimension via chanting his name, and even when he did enter our dimension to fight Godzilla (if one could call it that), he didn't need to do much thanks to his nature of defying the physical laws in our dimension and relayed mostly on Metphies to be his guide. But once Metphies got killed and he became tangible, and Godzilla Earth was able to physically hurt him, he was taken down in only three hits by the Big G.

Wrath: Finally, I give this sin to the GMK Godzilla, but honestly, almost any version of Godzilla will do; Wrath is the desire for harm. This is rage taken up a few dozen notches, combined with blood-thirstiness and a general appreciation of too much violence. As I said before, almost any version of Godzilla will do, but I specifically chose the GMK Godzilla because he is the most evil and villainous version of the Big G. In fact, Wrath is the whole point of the movie: Godzilla wants revenge for what happened back in WWII and desires to unleash his wrath on all of Japan for their past crimes, regardless if the modern are innocent or not.

So that's my take on the Seven Deadly Sins with kaiju, tell me what you think and which kaiju would you put with which sin?

There's actually a story on Toho Kingdom as part of their Kaiju War Chronicles that had a similar concept. In that, some kaiju are trapped in the Underworld punished for abusing one of the seven sins. Femuto for Lust, Goliath (from Daigoro vs Goliath) for Sloth, Destoroyah for Wrath, Gigan for Envy, SpaceGodzilla for Greed, Gyaos for Gluttony, and King Ghidorah for Pride.

For either lust or gluttony I would have placed Hedorah, as its whole desire is to consume pollutants and filth, and the famous scene where Hedorah perched on the smokestacks, the monster looked as though it was having a euphoria like experience, and became enraged when Godzilla interrupted it.
Gigan could be lust as well, as in lust for blood.
pride could be Monster X, as he thought himself the most powerful thing in the universe.
And if you stretch your imagination, Mechagodzilla (Showa) could also be pride or envy

You know, I actually considered Hedorah to be in gluttony at first, as well. And you do make a good point about Hedorah representing gluttony and/or lust. One can argue the same about Dogora.
I never thought of Gigan that way, good eye.
I always considered the Showa Mechagodzilla as a mindless machine with no free-will of its own, so I never considered him to embody any of these sins.

According to Toho, Mecha G 74-75’ had a rudimentary AI system even before being combined with Katsura Mafune. But you’re right it would be a stretch, and Megalon would work for Sloth, since he had to not only be freed from his mountain/temple in Seatopia, but afterward had to have Jet Jaguar to motivate him to where the Seatpoians wanted
