M-M-X [2008-06-03 16:46:36 +0000 UTC]

The exif information is quite weird

F Number: F/1.0
Focal Length: 0 mm

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LDFranklin In reply to M-M-X [2008-06-03 18:52:16 +0000 UTC]

Because I used a telescope instead of a lens, the telescope doesn't "communicate" with the camera the way a lens does... so it can't record the EXIF data from the telescope.

The focal length is 1000mm and the F number is f/11

BlackPhantoM-77 [2008-05-09 06:47:12 +0000 UTC]

Dude, it's amazing! Where did you capture it? I found myself lots of problems 'capturing' the moon with my camera and finding a great spot to capture it. Really love this one, great job!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LDFranklin In reply to BlackPhantoM-77 [2008-05-09 14:49:00 +0000 UTC]

I took it in my neighborhood actually! My house didn't have any good views, but if you went around the corner, there was a house for sale that no one lived in. From their driveway was an excellent view of the moon. So I brought a chair, my camera and telescope and just set up there and waited for moonrise!

Since then I've moved and I'm kinda out in the middle of nowhere now, so I get great moon views from my front and back yard!

Did you shoot it in RAW format?

Also... you shot through a telescope with a 200mm lens? Craaaazy

Great outcome, though

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LDFranklin In reply to aileen [2008-05-02 15:40:18 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I actually didn't shoot RAW for this, I shot JPEG. Hehe, and I used a 1000mm telescope instead of using a lens. I just attached the telescope directly onto the camera.

...hence the focal length 0mm. Clever girl! The end product is great.
