Maggot Queen (Death Colossus)- ZBrush and Photoshop. approx 24-30 hrs
I was going to name it Maggoth Queen, but i googled it and i found a rock band with the name 'Maggoth'.
I picked the maggot concept as i relate it to dead decaying animals, as i have chose to represent a monster from the death plains. I also decided to incorporate humanoid features such as human arms and the zombiesque figure that comes out of the mouth, (which is the queen by the way), as i did not want a 100% giant creature/beast look.

As me and my allies walked the empty planes, following a rumor of something haunting this place, we started to smell a four odor. Soon the sounds of something approaching fast.... and toward us. We just apart to avoid a purple ray which made the ground turned into a sickly grey as if it got sick itself. Looking up we took in, with shock and fear, the massive thing that found us and the top open revealing an thing that looked like a human but it release a sound that was far from human. Suddenly smaller creatures came out from its body and, with its offspring, went toward us scythe like arms raised high. We raised our weapons and bravely ran toward it to meet its challenge.

havent played Rift yet, but i always have narrations in my head like this when i play other rpgs.

but theres so many great stuff. im so lucky i got in the the 25 semi finalists.
my approach for the elements, well, i have to play the game first, but if it will go my way, i will do similar to those art above, mixing colossal humanoids and beast like beings. i find the magister and the the one with four wings so much like supernatural beings but id put them as higher creatures. i suppose adding 'end o the world' elements to the design willl fit.

I really started paying attention to the Colossus contest after I saw "Wrath of the Titans" recently. I wanted to get ideas for what other Titans in future sequels could look like, seeing as how Kronos is portrayed as a "walking volcano". I felt the various Colossus entries were along that same line of thinking in some cases.
Other than the Air one I posted above, I haven't decided on what my other favorites are. But thanks for your thoughts, Elden.

I love the idea behind a final reveal where the "queen part" comes out of the critter.
I'm on the Zbrush trail atm in school and totally wanna buy it.
They need to have another contest, twas very exciting.

I do not play videos games, outside the occasional revisits to "Tetris" (or however you speel it), and really can't say much on "RIFT" as a franchise...but I will admit, this contest of creating Colossuses have been most enjoyable, and has offered a wealth of high-end, original characters to add to Kaijuden.
I especially enjoy the more unique Colossus monsters, with their one individual names, and although Maggot Queen isn't on the top of that list, she's pretty awesome and disgusting regardless. So happy you contributed to this project.

i havent played Rift, myself. but you are right, the contest is a delight to join and even just to look at. it is truly enjoyable especially for us, kaiju fanatics.

Always happy to see quality giant monster art, and why you've been as much a joy to keep an eye on, as this Rift contest.
True, I have no true interests in video games in general, but often lured by the design art, and like you said, giant monster elements, which Rift seems more centered upon than most other fantasy games, where giants are basically afterthoughts and minor characters at best.
