Description EDIT: Total remake! As usual, their old designs can be found here: [link]

They have 'em in every region. Rattata, Sentret, Zigzagoon, Bidoof... Yep.

Prongupin and Priklspine are their names. They're based on porcupines, if that wasn't obvious for you.

Prongupin (Porcupine + Prong + Pin)
Quill PKMN
Normal
Anticipation, Skill Link
1'04''
12.8 lbs
"When it's upset, its quills become sharp and firm. Otherwise, they're rather soft and safe to pet."
"Its quills are only sharp if it feels upset or threatened. They become very hard and sharp in battle."

Priklspine (Porcupine + Prickle + Spine)
Quill PKMN
Normal
Anticipation, Skill Link
2'07''
66.1 lbs
"By flexing its muscles, it can fire the needles around its neck. Even large Pokemon know to stay away."
"It usually walks on all fours, but i will stand on its hind legs when it's threatened so it can swing its spiky arms at foes."

HP: 70
Attack: 85
Defense: 90
Sp. Atk: 40
Sp. Def: 60
Speed: 72
Total: 417

These Pokemon have slightly higher Defense than most other early Normal-types at the cost of some Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed.

They learn Scratch, Sharpen, Poison Sting, Sand-Attack, Detect, Twineedle, Faint Attack, Pin Missile, Spikes, Fury Swipes, Toxic Spikes, Slash, Spike Cannon, Needle Arm, Accupressure, Poison Jab, and Selfdestruct. Yes, really.

Daaaang...
IF they replaced the usual comMons with these, I'd be set. They look way better than the others.

What the remake! Not just a color change, like their bodies itself! Priklspine is kind tough to pronounce, but they're nice ones!
I can see mostly of their moves are "spike-related", and the type variation (normal, poison, bug...) is something that call my attention. I just can't stop to wonder how they can Selfdestruct themselves...

Hmm, Pirklspine's Dex entry mentions how it fires its spines off of its body, so that's kinda the inspiration for Selfdestruct.

Selfdestruct? haha XD nice... ooh, toxic spikes? That move is damn helpful, I had it on my Drapion...

I like this pokemon, especially since it has more colors and is more detailed than the other regions' normal types that you can catch at the beginning of the game.

they don't look exactly like they'd fit into that catagory of just the annoying little normal types, i think guys in that catagory should be a lot more boring looking than these things

Porcupine. Not a hedgehog. I thought I made that abundantly clear!

And hey, Watchog's kinda colorful and detailed... Heck, Watchog glows for no real reason.

ok, sorry i must have missed that. point is, i'm saying that these guys are cooler than that genre because i always expect the annoying normal types in games to be, well, boring
