I recently have been reworking my tiered list of favorite Pokémon and I was pondering Emboar. A few years ago when Black and White were on the horizon and Tepig (at the time Pokabu) had been released I was SUPER excited. Why? Becasue one of my favorite animals is the Boar and The idea of a flaming Boar was so cool to me. Up until Gen 5 (with the kind of exceptions of Marshtomp) 1 starter in each set of 3 was quadrupedal and stayed that way through all it's evolutions (I guess Typhlosion's family are facultative quadrupeds but you get the idea) The point is I was so sure Tepig would grow up to be this awesome 4 legged flaming boar like this. I was sorely disappointed, and now that Emboar exists it'll be basically never before Pokémon makes and actual flaming boar.

I was so prepared for this awesome Pokémon that to this day I still think of Emboar just a little bit as being like this. If he really did look like this he would sit snugly up in my Tier 1 rather than hanging out in the lower middle tiers.
