This is really amazing really impressed looking at this very well done maybe 1 thing you could try , maybe adding some fur with a 1 pixel smudge brush and just flick it around the cats head area. ive tried this many times looks good well just a thought ^^

Updated the photo...I did what I could to follow you advice, but too much smudging made the top of the cat's head a bit straggley and it didn't seem to look right. More practice for me, I suppose!
