Edited again to abridge the abridges as per suggestion.
Edited a third time to clean everything up and use a better font.

Oh my god I did this forever ago, but I just now finished with her friends and shit. Of course it doesn't look good and I had to abridge the majority of the text, but whatever.

The description is a bit wordy compared to most bios but at least you do get a good description of her overall character. I definetly love the detail in her outfit the most. I understand how it can be a bit hard using digital art but at least you have the talent to hand-draw your artwork because I come out a complete fail either way.

Thank you so much! I put so much into her bio (originally it was a lot longer) because a) that's how she speaks and b) because I've gone through a lot with her from when she was an inkling in the back of my mind to rough draft and so on, I wanted to show that progress. However, it was by a suggestion of someone I respect very much in the MH fandom that I abridge it. ^^

It's not a bad character concept, but her explanations are a bit wordy.

They are. They range from when I first created her to how she's developed, but it could stand to be trimmed down a bit more. Do you think I should shorten them?

If it's possible, you probably should. I can understand it be hard. I get carried away in my answers for my OCs, too! ^_^

I'll go ahead and do so. I wish she were simpler. XD

It happens to artist from time to time. The bios are for such brief snippets of our characters, but their our babies and we put some much thought into them. I know my bio for one of my OCs had to keep being redone and redone to try and make it less wordy.

Aside from the wordiness it is looking great

Thanks! I wish I could put more in, because the bio doesn't do her personality true justice, but I guess I can save that for the diary. I start school tomorrow, so art time is gonna be cut down. D; I can't wait to see Kallista's, and wish you luck with getting her at the right angle for the bio.

Ugh, Kallista's is going to suck big time. Getting a horse body to fit just right on a bio...not going to be fun >_<

leavesofthree In reply to Tsukiko-koe [2012-08-09 00:37:46 +0000 UTC]

You can draw her from the front, with her horse body fitting snugly behind her?

Tsukiko-koe In reply to leavesofthree [2012-08-09 00:53:32 +0000 UTC]

Not sure how well I could convey from a front shot that she has a horse body behind her. Time to do some research.

Just google "front facing horses" and you can get some pretty good reference pics.

I should probably make sure that I put the safe search on google during that. Otherwise the word 'horse' can take on some real frightening interpretation. O_o

Yes... oh very much yes. You might see Sarah Jessica Parker in the nude.

Oh dear lord(which one am I even talking to?!), I did NOT need to picture that visual!

Or just a picture of Sarah Jessica Parker clothed. That's still terrifying.

It's not bad looking at all. I can read the text and the design of your character is unique and flawless!
Yeah, sometimes I feel the same way about my character's bio's because I also do part digital, part hand drawn.

asdfghjkl;; uwaaaa thank you! I wish I could do digital but it's so aggravating. Paint can be a bitch to do bios in.

I do a mix between Paint, Photoshop, and then had drawings.
I have a tablet but my art sucks when I compare the digital to the hand drawn.

I just outline and color my stuff in Gimp. It usually turns out okay, but the outlines are always fuzzy and I miss coloring somewhere so I get little white patches in various places. It's so annoying. DX

Oh, I get those little white parts too! Gosh they are annoying!
I've gotten better with my linning to where I don't get them as much anymore, but OMG! When I get them I rage...

It's like right when you're positive you don't have anymore, they sneak up on you. I usually try to go into Paint and correct them, since when I delete the background (my picture) it's all grey-scale checkerboard, but when I go into Paint I can see them better.

A-Scary-Little-Girl In reply to leavesofthree [2012-08-08 23:41:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I usually don't see them till I post it on the bio! Then I'm like, "Gosh white stuff, not I have to color you in!
And then I usually smudge something.

leavesofthree In reply to A-Scary-Little-Girl [2012-08-08 23:45:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it gets pretty fricking annoying. That's why, to combat that problem, I bought some rather expensive marker paper that neither bleeds nor absorbs ink, even from Sharpies. Of course, it's eight dollars for a fifty-sheet packet so I only use it when I'm for-sure using Sharpies to color something.

Very nice, I need to pick up a good set of coloring markers.

Sharpies, on the right paper, are perfect, and they come in so many nifty colors. I'm thinking of getting some Bic Permanent Markers, one of the packs that has thirty in them for twenty bucks. It's a whole lot cheaper than Prismacolor or Copic.

I can't remember the exact amount, but I was going to buy some flesh-tone Prismacolors for when I'm working with Sharpies, but I nearly rageeeeeed at the price. Damn you, Hobby Lobby!

Copic and Prismacolor are professional-grade brands, so I see how they can be expensive, but I wish they'd put some more quality into other brands like Crayola so I don't feel like a kindergartener using them. *occasionally uses Crayola markers to color drawings in*

A-Scary-Little-Girl In reply to leavesofthree [2012-08-09 01:10:02 +0000 UTC]

Oh I know, Crayola is such a vast company that you think they would make better markers, or even an Artist set of markers.

Well, I suppose my swirly colored pencils and washable markers will sit at the bottom of my art bag now due to being laughed away by art snobs. I need to petition them or something. Rally artists everywhere to make a good-quality, affordable set of professional grade markers. I mean, they'd be expensive, but not nearly as expensive as some of the other brands.
