Description I made this from my kneaded eraser blob while listening to a school lecture. I thought it was worth posting for a time.

The irony of making art out of what is used to erase it.

Hey, that looks pretty good. You should bust out some super sculpey!

Oh believe me, if Super Sculpey could have as much rigidity as kneaded eraser does, I'd be making sculptures left and right! I am terrible at it for now, though, along with creating stable armatures, hehe. XP Thanks, though!

Well, Sculpey does have "Sculpey Firm", although I've never tried it yet. But it costs just as much if not more than SS for a pound of clay, which is denser and so has less actual clay than a pound of Super Sculpey. And I thought the regular stuff was pricey!

As for your creation, I love it! Brings back memories... kneaded eraser was the first thing that got me into sculpture. I was bored and started making random shapes and ended up with a gorilla head. Never would have known I had liked sculpting if it hadn't been for that!

Hmm... too bad about Sculpey Firm's cost - it sounds grand! I just hate it how Sculpey will 'melt' a little as you work on it and the clay gets heated up from your hands. I always tend to mess things up as I work on other bits, but that might be because of my fingernails, hehe. They can be great tools at some points but hindrances in others.

That's pretty neat - kneaded erasers can be a lot of fun! ^^

Hmm, to each their own, I suppose! I find Sculpey's texture perfect, once it gets 'warmed up' it smooths together perfectly. If you're working on it freely in your hands, then yeah it's gonna be easy to mess up details. But if it's secured on an armature it's MUCH easier to avoid those problems.

Ugh, me and armatures.. *laughs* XD Once I get some two-part expoxy and wood-crafting tools I may be able to make a decent sculpture with an armature, but for now, I completely suck at it. It's the next step!

Well, thankfully this stuff is less pliable than playdough for the most part.

Thank you!

If only boredom caused me to create works like this. Thus far, it's only lead to sleeping in class.

Yeah, I tend to make blobby, simple sculpture myself, but with boredom of the hands comes... this thing. *laughs* : )
