A Shockwave/Red Alert fanart inspired by this Transformers fanfiction, Never Was.Normally I don't really like drawing robots, but for some reason I just wanted to draw these two so bad after reading that story. I was totally moved by its bittersweet ending, so I picked up a mechanical pencil from my desk and did a quick sketch of this pairing.
Thanks to that fic, now I've started shipping these two as well. Looks like the list of my favorite crack pairings is growing...

Actually I don't really like drawing robots, because it often takes more time for me to get a decent picture done and the process can be quite frustrating. But when I really love a character or a particular pairing, I will try to draw some robot pictures. When I have the time and the inspiration, I mean.

LOL! I love drawing crack pairings because it's always more fun than drawing canon ones. So I often read stories about rare pairings or minor characters... It's also fun to see how the author makes a rare pairing work.

Another crack pairing! Your list of them just keeps getting longer and longer! And the pairings themselves are always so unexpected.
Shockwave here looks so tender toward Red Alert. There's nothing in his expression to give it away, since he looks like the regular Shockwave with a distinct lack of an expression, but the tenderness that he strokes the side of Red Alert's face with his finger. That's a really sweet and subtle gesture to show that he cares.
And Red alert looks so beautiful! You did a wonderful job of capturing her in the picture, even though she only showed up once in TFA.

Well, this world is full of possibilities when you're shipping these crack pairings. Pick out two characters and try to make a decent love story for the said characters, and then we get a new crack pairing to ship. Imagination can make anything work!
As to Shockwave... well, I don't think it's possible to give him a tender expression when he only has one single red optic on his boring looking faceplate. I could simply make his optic look like a heart shaped thing so people would know he's in love, but it would make him look kind of silly here. Oh well, maybe I'll do this to him next time if I need a victim for a hilarious picture.

That is so true! It's imagination that make creating worlds like these so much fun, and there's something to be said for the really creative writers who can make a great story out of a crazy crack pairing. 
Haha, that would be so funny to make his optic look like a heart! You could have him in love with other characters from different series who have one red optic, like HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey => Or Auto from WALL-E. I know there are other red-eyed cyclops robot characters out there, I just can't think of any more right now.

Oh, I agreed with you 100% about the crack pairing stuff. Shipping crack pairings is always more fun than shipping canon ones. It's too mainstream to ship canon pairings anyways.

Not to mention how serious canon shippers take their ship! I don't mind canon pairings, as long as their shippers don't shove it down our throats or treat the non-shippers as heretics. But I've learned the hard way not to say anything negative about those ships in those places designated for them. I also learned that whether a character of that ship leaves or dies, the ship will never sink!

Urgh, I hate it when some of those hard-core shippers force everyone else to ship their favorite pairings regardless of other people's feelings. No matter what the pairing is, canon or crack or even those CC/OC ones in their fanfictions. I mean, it's okay to introduce/recommend a pairing to another person, but when the shipper keeps bugging people and disgracing all the other pairings in order to make people think the shipper's OTP is the best, then it's getting annoying.
Oh well, as long as we love these couples, the ship will never sink. Love can make everything possible!
