Description Fanart for 's Transformers fanfiction, The Day We Hailed the Heavens. The scene is from the epilogue of the said fanfic.



Near the end of the story, the Autobots and their human allies work together and finally defeat Unicron, but they also lose some of their comrades and friends during the battle. At Carlos Lopez's funeral, Rose blames herself for Carlos's death and nearly breaks down. When the girl can't take it anymore, Ratchet holds her close and tries to give her some comfort.


The Autobots all use their solid holograms to attend the funeral, and they all wear in simple black suits for the solemn occasion. I don't remember the precise details of that scene, so I kind of drew this based on my memory...

Lol, I know how you feel, my friend. I wanna pull my hair out every time I realize the multi-chapter story I'm reading turns out to be a dead fanfic. Sadly the author isn't going back to continue the fic... now we will never know what's gonna happen next.

I listened 2 "Untitled" after we had 2 put our dog Shelby 2 sleep,she was my sister,she was only 1 year older than me and would have been 15 this November!

yeah,she lives on though,as Snowrunner and Shelby Saturday,two of my Oc's,I just wish we still had her,our new dog Ozzie is chaos!

Thanks! It's always sad to lose someone we loved. I felt sad and depressed when I read that chapter, so I used some darker colors here to express the characters' emotion.

This is a very touching piece. Even though you just left the background a pale sort of whiteish-blue you put mourners there and they have believeable facial expressions. My favorite part of this piece though is the Rachet/Rose center piece, that almost makes me wanna cry... TT_TT

It is... I miss Carlos. I'm re-reading the fic now and even though I'm only in "How We Seared the Sky" right now so we haven't really been introduced to Carlos yet but it still makes me cry, knowing that he will die... TT_TT

Oh my god! I'm sorry I haven't been able to comment on any of your art recently. This is just gorgeous! The emotion in it is so thick, you can cut it with a knife! It's beautiful, and the scene itself in the story made me bawl. A perfect companion picture to it. Anyone ever tell you that you could be an illustrator?

Oh, I'm so sorry about your cousin. I hope he/she is in a better place now. I thought of my grandma's funeral when I drew this, and I felt quite miserable while coloring the picture. It's always sad to lose someone we loved...

It's gorgeous! I love how Rose and Ratchet are the only ones in actual color. It brings your attention to them. The somber colors in the back totally describe how sad that scene was! I felt so sad for the whole team, and this is how this picture makes me feel. I bow to you, good lady. For you, have some talent right here.
