No problem: to get the full size of pictures on DeviantArt, assuming the artist has enabled that feature (which I have), just look to the right of the picture and you'll see a "Download" button with a green arrow icon on it. Click that, and the image will open in a new window in full resolution. Then just right click and save it as normal

There is, yep: if you go to a person's profile and click the Watch button at the top right, you'll be given the option to add them as a friend as well.
