These are real swords, the art of making them is very tedious and requires significant expertise. Because of this, I usually don't sell them because the costs are far too high. If I were to sell one however, this sword could be around $200 my newer ones are in the $500 range.

ok it's about what i expected. have you ever thought about making them with less time and cheaper material for a cheaper price? im sure you could get many commissions and make a lot of money

most people want around $75 for a blade but that would almost require them to be factory made and they would not be authentic swords.

I have, however making them with cheaper material is not the problem. The reason they cost so much is because of the time ant effort it takes to produce. Most of the materials used in my recent models don't cost anything; they are mined from the ground as black sand and then melted down into the steel used. The wood is often hand picked by me from Ceder, Osage or mulberry trees. the only things that cost money are leather and other metals used but those costs are usually miniscule due to how much is actually used in one blade.
I am however planning on making tools that will allow me to produce cheaper less authentic versions; a stamp tool that I can stamp blades out from steal sheets and other components such as hilts and plumes. But that is yet not implemented into the development process.

what kind of steel is it forged from?

This one was forged from a Street sweeper bristle so it is just folded low carbon steal.
I am currently working on updating my design and I am collecting black sands to make Tamahagane steel. eventually I hope to develop a miniature sword that is to a T, exactly like it's real life counterpart.
