hey folks ^^just a little update. i had nothing to do, and wanted to play with something... and i hadnt done kisame since i was really fresh as an artist, so... xD he must be so lonely now that itachi's gone. i wonder who he'll team up with... cuz he cant be dead without kishimoto telling us how, right? or was there actually a hint to whether he lived or died? oh well...
turned out okay... i dont like the hair too much, i'll work on it later maybe. just wanted to try a couple of things... and paint a random background... xD

First time I saw Kisame in the manga I got shocked and just hated him (poooooor.... D
Somehow...
He became my favourite char from Naruto. How ironic is life D:!
But I'm sure if I saw this drawing early... I would start to love him MUCH earlier, haha! Gorgeous job! *bows*

Oh, and I read the part that you didn't make the lineart but still, I keep my word. You made him look beautiful.
Because it's not only the lines that matter. The shading and the choice of colors you did made the already good looking lineart look stunning!

You made him look so beautiful! Lots of people see Kisame as an ugly half-shark guy and but you pictured him exactly how I see him. This is so amazing I can't even describe it properly! I love the combination of colors, the blue of his skin and the shades of pink in the background match so well! And how it's already been told, this piece gives a very tradicional japanese feel ^^

The amount of detail you pour into your work always astonishes me. This piece is no exception!
The background is just gorgeous. The pink sunset with the cherry blossom leaves is just something I would love to see in my lifetime. At least it helps make Kisame look less harmless. 
It seems you know just the right points of the face to shade. A feat that I find difficult myself. Well done Lee-nus!

skin shading is easy enough to learn by watching other accomplished artists, as well as real-life photos, but you can also try and touch your own face and feel what parts are protruding and so on!

What would really be good is if I studied the different lights and shades of the face with a flashlight at different angles. Sounds like a plan! Other than that comical image, I do like to look where others place shadings, such as yours. Great techniques seem simple, but some are just harder to grasp I guess. hehe

My god how do you do render hair like that? *utter disbelief*
The shades of red and pink match Kisames blue colors very well, i really love the combination and how they work off each other. Great piece also with a very rustic and traditional japanese feel.

Yeah, we didn't see suigetsu with Kisame's sword. I guess he's all right then.
The strokes are great but I would have used much darker colors, considering the lighing in the scene.
