As a violinist I have to say, that you're the first artist I see that knows how to draw someone holding a violin, you're amazing, really.

So pretty and graceful, the commissioner's character design is lovely and you drew her so nice as well! I like how her hair flows in the breeze as well as how you colored all the materials

This is very pretty. Also fitting, I generally see Eilistraee's totem animal as a moth/butterfly.

Eilistraee's sacred animal is indeed the moth. One of her manifestations consists of a handful of shining, silvery moths. I had a few moths included in my commission of Eilistraee herself: Comm::.Eilistraee-2

Oh yesss, now I remember reading about that. I figured that the drow gods were associated with insect/vermin animals or other cave dwelling animals, and the moth/butterfly fit Eilistraee best. It even works on a metaphor level, with the metamorphosis of the evil drow into a good drow.
And yeah I saw that one too in the artist gallery, and the other one too, they look good!

I like that comparison for Eilistraee, but Idk if all drow gods are associated with vermin or cave-dwelling animals. Eilistraee has also another sacred animal, cats with distinct silver stripes. Vhaeraun only has black cats and ravens (unless you count dead spiders too).

I don't think officially they are, but I see the relationship can be easily seen once you make a few associations:
Lolth has spiders, Eilistraee moths/butterflies, the eberron drow have scorpion god (insectoids)
Corellon would have the eagle for day/king and Sehanine Moonbow have owls for night/queen (birds)
Sea elves worship deep sashelas associated with dolphins (sea beasts)
And I'm sure wood elves would have gods based around elks and wolves (land beasts)

Like I said, not official, but it fits rather well, especially since a lot of insects are underground or live in tunnel like environments: ants and termites, bees/wasps in their nests.

Now let us go forth and commission DA artists for more drow!

smexy drow bard and hmm interestign buckles she has ..looks like thewy are  one or the others  of two possible good ish elf 'powers' sigils

Mk2scorpion In reply to lesgraham [2018-02-10 00:59:31 +0000 UTC]

The buckles are a stylized version of the symbol of Eilistraee (Lolth's daughter and kind-hearted, free-spirited drow goddess of beauty, dance, music, moonlight, and swordplay).

This character is a priestess of Eilistraee--they are usually known as "Sword Dancers", you can picture them as a mix of bard and cleric: they summon divine magic through music, tend to be creative artists, and elegantly dance in battle with their sword.

Eilistraee is alive and kicking again in 5e (although she no longer holds her brother's portfolio, and the 2 of them have agreed to a truce) if that's what you mean by end of the game

Oh, I wasn't talking about the game rules. What I wanted to say is that, even tho WotC did away with Eilistraee at the end of 3.5 Realms (to prepare for the 4e Realms) when the 5e Realms were introduced, it was revealed that she had in fact survived.
