Anu is a sweetheart with seemingly endless amounts of patience and understanding, especially for little ones. He adores children and has always dreamed of having his own, but his shy disposition and struggles with his own sexuality have left him unsure of himself and lacking in relationships. He doesn't do well on his own for too long and will quickly seek out the company of others, even if he's just quietly observing. He's often taken advantage of, even by his own family, and he still hasn't quite learned how to stand up for himself. It takes a lot to get on his bad side, and he can typically quell other's anger, but he's been known to snap when one of his loved ones is harmed. He has never done so around others– growing up seeing the anger issues on the Drampa side of his family have scared him into hiding it– but it takes a long time and typically running himself ragged through manual labour for him to calm down. He's a good ol' country boy who had manners and some conservative ideologies drilled into his head, and his quiet and calming voice mean that he's well-liked on the islands, even if no-one knows much about him.
History:
A thunderstorm raged through the night as a mother was in labor. Her screams could be heard as a midwife frantically ran in and out of the room, the father and older sister sitting at the table and waiting with bated breath. Morning came and the rain subsided, and the father watched out the window as the sun peeked through the clouds and a rainbow appeared. It was then that he heard gentle cries, and he shoved his way into the room to gaze upon his new son. The little Drampa was named Anuenue-Akua, meaning "rainbow's spirit," and the name embodied him perfectly. Anu was a beacon of light, always offering a smile and a helping hand wherever he went. He was a little shy, but once he found his footing in a new environment, his friendliness and compassion for others made him many friends. He was well behaved in school– even though he was often late because he got caught up pushing a cart for an elderly neighbor, helping Shuckle get across the road, etc– and church, and he had a quiet and mostly mundane childhood. As he grew older though, he had a lot of acquaintances, but no real friends. He was the guy that everyone was cool with, but that no one never really knew. There was always something holding him back, making him feel like he didn't quite belong, and he couldn't figure out what it was.
That bright smile and those twinkling eyes dulled a bit, always seemed a bit sad as he continued to grow. Despite his general popularity, he wasn't invited to parties or asked out on dates, and soon the tall, gangly, and increasingly awkward teen was spending more time with his younger cousins than children his own age. Praise for being "so grown up" for his age turned into questions of "when are you going to grow up" and "why don't you have a girlfriend yet" and "have you thought about your future" from his overbearing but well-meaning family. Wanting to get away from the watchful eyes of his parents and older sister, he went to college on the mainland for environmental science and agriculture, and it was there that he realized he fancied boys the way he was "supposed" to fancy girls. He went through a lonely internal crisis for several years before attempting to explore this newly discovered side of himself, but his shyness and religion-fueled guilt kept him from getting very far. What few relationships he had were toxic in nature and always ended with the other growing tired of him being a pushover, which left him even more unsure of himself and afraid of opening up intimately. As he graduated and joined the workforce, he mostly just kept to himself, feeling the rift grow ever-wider between him and his peers and making him miss home terribly.
His older sister having her first child gave him the perfect excuse to return to his small hometown. There, he took over the family farm with his sister and brother-in-law since their father was getting too old to do the majority of the work, and the three of them have slowly, but surely, been expanding their operations. Thanks to his deflecting and excuses, the family has mostly stopped pestering him about why he hasn't "settled down with a nice girl" yet, but their concern still crops up with attempting to match him with eligible bachelorettes at church. Despite all of this, he's happy to be back home, and he spends his quiet days on the farm, helping care for his niece and two nephews, and dreaming of a family of his own.

Changing totems gave him the push he needed to start opening up more and make friends, and the new profession has allowed him to spend his time doing what he truly loves– gardening! He couldn't be happier working at Raccolto's Botanical Garden, and he spends his free time helping out on the family farm if they need it– which has been much easier after they switched gears and became an apple orchard.Dex Entry: This Pokémon resembles a beautiful flower. Hotaru helps out sometimes, only if he's given treats of course, but mostly he chases birds and plays with the children all day. The puppy is always full of energy, but he zonks out as soon as he's in Anu's arms.

- Thanks to his new totem, he always smells of flowers. The smell differs slightly depending on his mood, but they tend to be lighter. The most common is roses.

- Lives in a small guest house off of the main family home, which his parents and sister's family occupy.
- Had a terrible stutter when he was younger, but it's gotten better as he's aged. He speaks slowly and deliberately to combat it, but it can get really bad when he's flustered or angry.
