The cocoon shapes of the Shrine pieces demonstrate the combined feelings of security and confinement when rising toward transformation. Human heads, clutching the bridge of their noses , breach the cocoons. The use of materials in the Shrine pieces split between concrete, a long lasting yet decaying medium, and resin, a nigh immortal plastic. They balance the transitional body and immortal spirit.
