I don't find tier lists in any Smash Bros games "helpful" because of five reasons:1. They feel like one of those focus groups
2. They claim to be created by "Professionals"
3. Strength is not the only thing to win a VS match in Super Smash Bros, control is more helpful
4. It doesn't help for people who are new to the Smash Bros universe, and maintaining a specific character
5. What's the most important thing about playing an entire game? BEING ABLE TO PLAY IT!
So do a favor, and play Smash Bros your own way, and don't follow focus groups and statistics

They are though? Most big tier lists are made by people who are professionals at the game.

Sure, I check the list every so often (this kinda reminds me of Wander Over Yonder's Galactic Villain Leaderboard), but I do not FOLLOW the tier list. I play as WHO I WANT

I see, I heard that Kirby was the lowest tier in Melee, but I still enjoy playing as him, along with any of the original 12(besides Fox)

Thanks, and yeah, tier lists are no fun for people who are new to Smash Bros or any fighting games. Besides, what if you were playing as a high tier, but don't know how to play as that character? You'll probably lose.

Sometimes maintaining a specific character is a good thing. I used Marth so often that I find him very easy to control.
