I've just got around to watching Bad Moon
Not sure about that one
It was gory , but the dog as hero and kid running around made it seem like a goose bumps movie with blood and tits!
The wolf was pretty good , for 80% of his screen time
kind of dog Soldiers meets The howling , but his face/eyes seemed a bit lifeless in some shots and he came across as clumsy during attacks
I'm starting to see why American Werewolf works so well , It didn't really have use of its hands, so victims were chewed up
With upright werewolves the actor in the suit has the urge to grab or claw the victims , and his arms actually get in the way of biting
It lacks the animal ferocity

I like the werewolf too, but heavily disliked the transformation sequence, but it was the specialty of the time I suppose.
I was glad when that the con artist got mauled though. That's another staple of horror movies I notice, if there's someone unpleasant you can guarantee them being killed at some point

The transformation was kind of awkward , from a concept point of view
they went for an odd totally asymmetrical approach , that would have really worked with make up fx either

That's an oddity for movie transformations too. More often then not I notice they're usually awkward with some parts changing faster than others
Perhaps its cheaper that way or just easier. But I find I like the symmetrical version better for some reason

Even the American Werewolf seemed like his body had changed more than his face
Rick Baker and Landis were arguing over the fact that landis wanted the face to change as the last thing
Rick thought that was silly and wanted him to have a wolf like face , by the time you see the full body, after David rolls onto his back
As for the bad moon transformation , It just seemed awkward whatever technique was used
the CGi wasn't the only problem

The transformation dis have an odd awkwardness about it.I liked the look of the final product though. Back to the old school of medieval folklore
