A loss not only to this country, but to the world as well. We lost our idealism on that day.

I'm not an American, and yet, I still feel sad for JFK. He never saw how USA fulfilled his dream of landing a man on the Moon before the end of the decade. And Ruby DEFINATELY wasn't on his right mind when he shot Oswald.
PS. I think Oswald was guilty. All proofs point to him, and all those conspiracy theories are just made up by those who don't want to believe anything they haven't experienced first-hand, so I'd suggest that you treat them the same way I do: just ignore them. My philosophy is: "If it's in the past, don't say 'what if'. It cannot be changed, so it doesn't make any difference."

A true believer in American exceptionalism.
Within a few years we went from: "Ask not what your country can do for you...", to the creation of a sub-class of people with their hands out, totally dependant on government.
