she is an alicorn. one of my friends is making hera ref sheet.  I can tell you right now, she is not over powered, she earned her wings, and is not a normal alicorn. ;D

she has a 10000 hours of thought and process to make her an alicorn, she was normally one, but then i removed the wings , afriad people would bash and hate on her, but then i was all " t hell with what people think" and added them back, but I am glad you like her coloration and design. Took me forever to figure out xD

I think Clarity might actually be the first well-balanced alicorn OC I've seen. Her reasoning behind being an alicorn makes sense, she isn't overpowered, and I find myself being curious as to what her backstory is, and how you fit her in in your head canon. If you can sell me on an alicorn OC, you have officially done the impossible. Congrats~

I know what you mean about the time it takes to design an OC. My main OC, Aqua Wish, took me forever to design as well. I struggled with keeping her a balanced character as she is Luna's student and it's so easy to have that go off the Mary Sue deep end.

mhm, the only connection she has to the princess's is her foalsitter Silver Guardian, who is stronger than the royal guards, but is never in the same place, since she is everywhere kicking butts. But when she is in canterlot, she helps guard the castle when it is dire. So, Clarity is no way blood related to the princess's.  Clarity's backstory is a long and detailed one. I am too lazy to write the entire thing out.  But if enough people want to know about her, I can write a journal about who she is, why she has done all the things she has, etc.  Most of the popularity she has, is because of her mother and father using her looks to get places. If she had  choice, she would avoid those situations and be....normal?

She earned her wings because she sacrifices herself in many ways and her gift she possesses.

I definitely like the sound of it. After she becomes a princess though, does she rule a kingdom, like Cadence? What does she do?

Yup, Aqua's backstory is super long too.

shemoves to ponyville, she doesnt rule a kindgom, but she continues to heal a dying forest. she found a patch a lake, int hemiddle of a dying forest, filled with dark and taint, she knows if she is able to heal the area around the lake, and purify it, she can then start to help the forest grow by giving it a little push in the right direction.  She is like a nurse, she can help a cut heal, but cant get rid of it, the rest is up to the body. 

she can give the forest a push, but it is the fight in the nature  the forst to make it better.  she doesnt want to rule a kingdom either, she just wants to help people and nature, those who need a bit of light in their life. so to speak.

hahaha.  I think most people make alicorn oc's because of the design of the horn and wings.  Most characters need time and just thoughts, to grow. not on the spot. I thought of her on the spot, but over a few months, and random things I said, she forms.  Thats how my lion cub ocs developed.  One should never rush a character, alicorn or not.  :3

and i am glad you like the idea of her. I want to cut her hair short, but i have denied it so many times because of her character, the long hair fits better.  A character is always changing, new things added, details here and there. People tneed to think about it more.

I'll admit I'm a sucker for long manes. I do really like her mane as is, but it would look cute short as well. If you were to cut is short, I would keep the tail long and flowing. But I can understand if the long, detailed mane is too much of a pain to draw.

I hardly draw her because it takes so much out of me. but I feel good after I draw Clarity though.
