This shot was taken a few years ago while I was up in the lake district (UK). The photo is of derwent water, one the most famous lakes there, also known as the queen of the lakes.This shot was taken at about 6:30pm on High Moss, a small peak fell opposite Cat Bells peak over Derwent Water. We got back to the cottage at about 11:30pm after walking back in the rain. Typical!
You will be seeing many many more of the derwent photos Ive down as I have a love and passion for the lake district and particularly derwent water.

Walking back in the rain...lol. I've lived in England for six years of my life - and gone to the Lake and Peak districts for D of E trips...and EVERY time I get to somewhere like that... and take a brilliant picture...I end up walking back in the rain.
I leave the house for a walk....it rains.
I have a sunny lunch time at school...afterwards...it rains.
I've noticed this trend...
And when I move back to the states in six months, I'll miss it terribly.

I find white works best for me in any shots that are not dominated by black like silhouettes.

Nope, no filter used. I didnt have time to set up my gear properly, it was a fleeting 2 mins and I just reeled off the shots, got about 6 in the series that time.

why where have you been? lol I live in cambridge (south east) and it takes me 5 hours to get to the lakes from here, and I go every year and have been for the past 16/17 years since I was small with parents.

Haha, i've only been to London and Cambridge. I remember Cambridge had some beautiful spots along the river. But i haven't seen any of the nice landscapes in the UK so far.
