Thank you! If Vincent is talking to you, you should start painting with his tips!

Vincent is talking about mutilating myself and sending it to women
as proof of my sincere admiration of them...
? its a constant debate between Vincent and Gogan(misspelled)in my head
I rather head to a tropical island and count the waves as they break against the shore
and photograph naked natives bearing fruit..

Haiti is my paradise I plan to be relatively soon
its cheap and they speak French
I got both of those covered...

I will keep you updated

You meant Paul Gauguin Yeah... living his life would be nice (well excluding malaria ) Did you know that this two painters actually known each other?

mais oui, Gauguin knew Vincent wasn't right mailing his ear to a hooker; he split quick;
and painted tanned Thaitian women walking towards him beautiful kind and nude with platters of fresh food...I wasn't aware about malaria never had it don't think I would like it...
? did you know Vincent had not sold anything in his life...his brother lied to him said he sold this and that a passed him money for bandages and absinthe. ? ever drank Absinthe I have and its not just whiskey now its been above five years since my last bottle but I got it delievered at my door the one I suggest they have many brands have are trash five years ago it was about one hundred dollars its the bottle that on its label is a van gogh self portrait with his ear bandaged it has wormwood in the bottle looks gross but you don't eat it and that's from where the green fairy grew up...I had my share my and friends get a bottle together ...taste like moonshine which taste like rubbin alcohol...dose after you tried it at least once but it just make you sick not kill ya the whole bottle I say is six doses or if you feeling frisky four doses per bottle...do it with a friend or two and know where you gonna b and what you be doing ,,, it will be trippy...at first you are kinda tipsy but not drunken then time disappears when you are walking you don't feel the ground like you are walkin about six inches above the ground on air but that goes well it creeps on ya then you and you pal realize you been laughing at a bug on the grass cause it has a funny walk but you been laughing but for how long is no concern just go with the flow and its good stuff not an everyday thing but three times a year is grandma safe I have taken LSD and this is safer smoother and your dose is precise LSD one kind may do nothing so next time you take two and you gotta keep your head because it will end and its just the drug you ingested the reason you feel different and its gonna stop soon....ok Van Gogh I have never been in the presence of any of his works though my best friend has in Washington DC he spent three full days sitting in the Van Gogh Wing said you could get within inches of his pieces they weren't big kinda like two feet by two feet or near but the paint was thick he attacked the canvas not with brush but spachtler or putty knife he loved them said the paint was three to four inches thick nothing flat in any at the museum he went to I know to really judge the work of another its gotta be in person Jackson Pollock those big murals of splatted paint in person maybe kinda like an awesome fractal Dali painted many works that I aint sure the number but I saw how many it I was astonished but I enjoy his art now Picasso I would have to see that in person I know the mona lisa is almost a tiny piece but her eyes are on different sides of her nose I am a fan of mc eschur and he did it with math a head loaded with math but I haven't seen originals but I doubt the paint is splatted on the canvas....keep in touch educate me of Gaiguin didn't he leave Tahati and return and found van gogh still crazy I heard it said that his works have a yellow tint due to a lot of absinthe it was sold in New Orleans for centuries but the bottle with van gogh label is from checoslvockia the French pour it into a spoon of sugar but that's just silly just fill up like four shot glasses and cowboy up and swallow it they float around all night carefree and happy.....bon nuit Madame A.

omg! use some full stops in your sentences sometimes!
Well I'm quite sure that Van Gogh sold one painting and it was 'Red Vineyard at [something]' not one of the 'Sunflowers' like people like to think. The buyer was some kind of Gauguin relative or Gaugiun himself, don't remember. Maybe it's just an urban story, but I've read it in Gaugin's biography so I'm really willing to believe it's a fact.

It's hard to believe that any of his paintings is 3-4 inch thick... It would require time between applying another layer of paint, like in watercolour technique, but his paintings seems to be too rough for that. Oil painting allows to create thick layers, but not THAT thick. Also Van Gogh was quite poor and he couldn't really afford paints. I've heard that his paintings were draying for several months, but 3-4inch is just... intriguing. I need to do the research

I know for sure I adore his paintings in which there are outside night scenes with the stars and clouds are stunning.

Wow, pretty! Is it hard to paint in sepia tone?

LenamoArt In reply to ChelseaHantken [2013-04-25 10:12:15 +0000 UTC]

It's much easier to paint it black and white and then just put a sepia layer on it
