Commissioned for iashak/vAnth inside of Dark Ages.Painter 6 makes me SO ANGRY. I was halfway done with this picture, then the damn program just decides to crash right when I was thinking about saving. So I lost most of the coloring job. Luckily, I saved the sketch and started over. I like this version much better anyways... even if it took me a couple hours longer than expected to do.
I think he kinda looks like Riku from Kingdom Hearts with weird clothes and pink hair.initial sketch: Open Canvas 3

Hee! I think I did a few different layers of gradient set on different levels/options (like color burn, pin lighting, etc), and used a bunch of different custom photoshop brushes. I do that for most of my portrait backgrounds. It's fun!

If you've ever seen the game Fire Emblem, he looks a great deal like the character Saleh...the vivid colors really jump off the screen, and the backround is really awesome-it reminds me of a collection of watermarks. Sorry about the problems you had, though
