Nice shot, you've really managed to add emotion to it.
Seeing that they're on the critically endangered list I can imagine it feeling down just a little bit.

I took the picture in an animal park in Belgium. I have been told they are part of a conservation programme. Lets hope it works.

At least they're trying, there are about 1,000 birds held in captivity and about 24 living in the wild. That is up from an all time low of 6 wild birds in 2001; unfortunately it isn't through breading in the wild but through release programmes that the numbers are up. Their recovery is slow and extremely fragile still, but a lot is being done so hopefully it will work
