It's a crop, they all are. That's why the detail isn't sharp enough. They are always sitting too far and it was evening also. I wish I could take a picture of one under ideal conditions but that's not up to me. The little teasers!

It can be frustrating, for sure! This is very pretty, partly because it is so soft. It has a nice evening mood to it and reminds me a little of a Japanese painting, where it's not important for details.

It has a nice feeling, you are right. Maybe I should stop trying to get close. Leave the camera at home and just enjoy.

Sometimes it's good to do that, but on the other hand you could miss something special! You never know!

I know, I know.... You see the most beautiful things when you don't have your camera with you!

Even worse, you have a camera but you aren't ready, then it's too late! Or you have the wrong lens on. I can't tell you how many times I've been taking a macro shot when I see a bird or other creature and it's just a little to far. I've heard of people carrying 2 cameras with different lens but that's too much work (and money) for me.

It makes me think of people who are always playing the lottery, they never win but always think they will someday...

That's one of the best things of photography... even if we never win, we never lose either!
