Gr8 pic! Reminds me of several abandoned houses and cottages in my neighbourhood. Sadly, I have in my lifetime seen much of the countryside dying out and fading away. Still, such old houses can hold a weird beauty of their own...

I love old buildings like this as you never know what you'll find and there's always that slightly ominous feel in the air. Which is odd considering I'm afraid of my own shadow most days.

Gate Lodge - my great granddad lived in one in his retirement after he was butler for Lord Wicklow - there's some really odd gate lodges around, up in Kilkenny county there's one designed to look like a small gothic castle

Yeah, you would see quite a few deserted ones here, during our Independence War many of the aristocrats were simply burned out by the revolutionaries leaving these deserted estate buildings or a fancy looking gatehouse and road that ends at a stump of a manion

This house, left alone, hidden in the forest, signs of worned out, getting older every day, and it won't do nothin about it, just stands in a locked state, and let time to do its job. Maybe there is a reason for that everyone left it, things happened inside, others got hurt, and it turned into a cold place, like it wants to be alone. Maybe there is a limit, a point in time, after which things cannot be changed, maybe its over that line. But right now, I hope its not, must try to force out the change, to be a house where people lives, with strong doors and windows to give protection for those who I let in, sometimes I feel this can be done, but you know, mostly, you just showed me the future, what I was askin for it.
