Description A long overdue collection of random Sweeney sketches, some having been done last year and others only a short while ago. You may have seen a few of these already, that is to say the ones that I posted in my journal entries. The rest are conceptual sketches for other characters in the book, roughs for possible painted pieces and random scribbles that just float around.

The characters in the top right corner are Steph's Jack the Ripper character Jake and Jil's westie character in a Mrs Lovett outfit. I still love doodling their characters and wish I could steal them for my own!

So happy to hear that! I must admit that he's a fox and not a wolf, but people often think that because his markings are far from typical. It makes me feel that I did something right! hank you for the lovely compliments.

Also, if you mean the original novel, you can get it from Amazon: [link]

Oh, sorry. I should've noticed that before. I'm stupid. Yeah, now as I re-look at it, he's totally a fox. But you're welcome anyway!

Ah, and thanks for the link!

No, no! You're ok! It happens more than you think and it never annoys me; primarily because it just confirms he stands out from the usual 'foxy crowd'!

And you're welcome by the way. It's a long, old-fashioned read, but worth it in the end!

Well, that he does.

And holy crap, the Kindle edition is 10 bucks. O.o That's kinda on the expensive side for and e-book.

Leopreston In reply to LayeredLikeAnOnion [2012-11-02 12:13:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, you might want to avoid that. There are people out there who have tried to cash in after the Tim Burton movie. Even the story itself is out of Copyright! Bandwagon! XD

Which is exactly why I got the 99-cent version. Just as good for a fraction of the price!

Hah! Never mind! While browsing the "customers who bought this item also bought" area, I found the 99-cent version. That's usually how I get my old classic books on my Kindle: find the free/99 cent versions, since the stories are in the public domain. ^^

Who's the dog on the top left? ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Leopreston In reply to ShallowFool [2011-11-08 18:45:30 +0000 UTC]

Top left, that would be the character Thornhill's dog. He dies early on in the story, but the dog is key to leading some of the other characters through the narration. I know it's strange, having a 'normal' dog in with anthropomorphic types, but he must be in there.

ShallowFool In reply to Leopreston [2011-11-08 21:47:23 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Yeah, the dog is a bit strange in all the anthros, but what would life be without strange stuff?
He's really well drawn, like one of my granddad's old grumpy hunting dogs. ^^

And I probably don't have to tell you, that I LOVE your Sweeney! You captured him simply perfectly.

FatalBellman [2010-05-15 14:39:28 +0000 UTC]

These are awesome - as always. Sweeney's expressions... Hell, they are so perfectly, gleefully evil, but you already know that, of course. It just goes without saying, it rocks so much. But I also love the looks on Mrs. Lovett's face. I would so not mess with that cat... Dang! And Toby's freaked-out-ness. Even Jack the Ripper makes an appearance. Hooray!

Ha ha ha, it's a bundle of insanity, but... I'm glad you like them and good to hear from you again! It's been a while I think.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FatalBellman In reply to Leopreston [2010-05-19 19:04:55 +0000 UTC]

Well, I'm not sure where the world would be without insanity, but I'm sure it'd be more boring. Every bundle is a blessing, huh?

It has been a while. But that's because I fail at life lately... I meant to leave a comment a wicked long time ago.

But it's so anal and unfree. And worst of all, so freaking saturated. D=

But I'm glad you like it, even if it frustrates me.
