Maybe. Maybe so. But it is inspiring to see how hard work and perseverance can lead to amazing things !

Once in a while I will see an old thing I failed at and figured out how it might be done.

Really? Like retrospective problem solving? I mean, you can't deny that you work developed immensely over all those years. From composition to subject to style. I was really impressed by some of that old black and white Geiger work you did!

Oh! I obsessed so hard over Giger for many years, and
sometimes I still do When I was young I would save all my
money to get his big art books

Oh goodness, they are like $120 each! I wish. He really had a unique approach to oil painting. I should probably try to get my hands on some of his books. Oh yeah, it was also fascinating to see that you would occasionally do some traditional media back then rather than all digital. Did you do any art school or just make work on your own?

Back then they were more like $60 $70 each, although
that was also 20 years ago, so it probably stacks up to costing
the same I had some art classes in middle school and high
school, but nothing formal since then I copied out a lot of
drawings from artists I admired, took advice from friends, did
random experimenting, and messed around in Photoshop a lot

Oh? Did you every try making a living from your art or has it always just been something that you created for your own enjoyment? (Sorry if I am asking too many questions, I am just curious)

I have sold some commissions, and once long ago I tried to apply for
a graphic deign job, but mostly I have created out of compulsion

I'd love to one day see you do something like a graphic novel, if that was something you were ever interested in. I don't know, a part of me wishes that I saw more work like yours in contemporary galleries or out in the world in some way. I'm in school for art and a lot of the art they expose you to is really dull and highly reliant on concept. Long story short you are a anomaly in the best kind of way and I think it is awesome🙅

That might be fun! I actually had an idea for how
I might do one recently You have a point, a lot of
"high art" and stuff done in art schools has little to do with
anything interesting or aesthetic I think your art
stands out as well, because it's plain you mean to make
stuff a person can look at for more than five seconds

I would love to see it if you begin working on it! I am glad that you like looking at my stuff, most of the time people just say "oh that's cool" or "I like the colors". . . I would like to find a way to make a living on this art buisness but it isn't easy.

It's rare for anything on DA to really break in on
me and make me notice it, so congrats on that! I hope
you can find a way to monetize your uniqueness!
