It might have been kinda silly, but he plays a guy born in the US who became a Swedish citizen I know it sounds convoluted, but it's based on a real dude

It's easier to get somebody to do something if you convince them it's their own idea
I remember reading that the nazis sent a number of saboteurs into the US, most of whom
just kept the money they were paid and settled down, why blow up a thing when you can lounge?

Hoover was only working for himself, selling his
own image. Hell, even old FBI guys will tell you that the
FBI was pretty badly run while J. Edgar was alive. Dude
tried to claim that the Mafia didn't exist!

Sounds like another case of an ego out of control. Crossdressing would have been the least of his sins, were it true. There are so many people who could have saved the world plenty of misery (not to mention their own image) had they died sooner. If Henry Ford had died at the beginning of the 20s we would probably see him as a great man and his son Edsel would have lived to a ripe old age!

Lindbergh was also interested in eugenics, so
not too great! Ford thought everybody should be bitter
and abstinent and eschew ornament or comfort. He probably
should have learned something about humanity if he was
gonna sell them cars! It's a wonder the brand survived him.

Yeah, sounds like he thought he was saving the world
on his own terms. The 30s was a fucked up time, largely for
the headway that eugenics made in the US, the ideas about
"inferiors" and forced sterilization of criminals and of the
relatives of people with Downs's Syndrome. It'd be nice if
people who come to the forefront and inspire us wouldn't
buy into ideas like these.
He was mad at the Navy for being mad at the Japanese, who
had bombed the hell out of them that time? Sounds like there
were a few things Lindy just didn't get.
Damn, 2nd family in Germany. Doesn't make him sound like
the great patriot, does it?
