Description Honamy all year round baby ! Most of the holiday art I made this year features the sweetest roses of the Sonic universe : Amy Rose and Honey the cat ! Honamy is not a very popular ship, but I still really like it. It's my favorite Amy ship, above the already great Blazamy. Sure, so far my ship art has been pretty light, by this I mean that the two gals could simply be pals, but it was still intended as ship art.

Anyway, sketching this was super fun. I didn't have access to a scanner for a few weeks so I worked on a bunch of little sketches, including some Christmas ones. I wanted to draw lolita outfits again, and I thankfully already had some nice reference pictures laying around (I had some internet issues these last weeks so I couldn't download new ones for a few days). I knew I wanted to draw Honamy, so dressing the two girls in lolita outfits was a no-brainer. There is a surprisingly large amount of art depicting Amy with an apron, so I'm doing my part I guess. Oh and Amy's jacket was inspired by the New Style Boutique 3, again. This game is simply amazing for cute clothing ideas.
Coloring this was less fun though, but it was still kinda fun (especially for the gingerbread house, coloring it was great). I usually do not put patterns on clothes so this was a challenge to get... Not necessarily "right", just "ok" I guess. I actually used color palettes made out of some Christmas aesthetic pictures thank to a palette generator... The same website I used for my Easter art. The result is much better then my Eater drawing though, the drawing's color palette isn't too muted and the colors go very well together. Some colors don't come from a palette though, like the yellow of Honey's fur (it's the same yellow I used on my Valentine's Day ship art). There is more than 100 layers on this drawing, and most of them are for the coloring... I let you guess how long it was. The lineart was a chore though, lace is so tedious to draw !
The shading was... Not as painful as usual ! I finally used the layer settings like "multiply" or "add", and it made the shading so much easier ! I kind of wish I knew how useful these settings were earlier in my artist journey, but to be fair Sony Sketch did not have these for the longest time (and it is the app that actually introduced me to digital art), so I wouldn't have been able to do much with this knowledge. Anyway, I found a more efficient way of shading for Christmas... It's the second time something like this happens. I guess Christmas makes me experiment with my art, after all it's my favorite holiday and I want to celebrate it the best way possible.
I used Photofiltre for the background again, however it is nothing too crazy. Maybe I'll find a better idea later, but at least this background doesn't distract from the characters.

I hope you like this drawing as much as I do !
