Ironhide on the USS Alabama battleship.This WWII Navy vessel resides in Mobile, Alabama on Mobile Bay, next to Interstate-10.
If I had thought about it, I would have taken a shot without Ironhide in it, as the photo of the battleship with the clouds alone would have been fantastic. But, one can't help but smile at this one
And it is definitely unique I am very excited about the symmetry of this...and the way the sun reflected off of his armor...and his shadow...and the way the huge anchor chains frame him nicely...and, of course, the cannons and guns! The whole thing was lined up better than I originally thought when I actually took the photo!

I live near the Battleship! I went there and took a pic of my Bumblebee toy in like the same place! Except it was wayyyy to sunny when I took mine. This actually makes me want to post my pic. Yours is better though! Keep up the great Ironhide pics!

But this was such a cool shot, Ironhide is like your little buddy, yes? I should get a movie Optimus Prime...or a Ratchet, cuz that would just be awesome. We could watch House together and try and diagnose the patient before he does

I've drawn Ironhide and BB as well as a couple of renditions of Sunshadow (all in my gallery on this site). I'm working on Ratchet, but it's slow going, as I'm not concentrating too hard on it...eventually I'll sit down and finish him up.

Thank you! I have a purse that he fits in perfectly, so I carry him with me when I know I'm going some place interesting. I almost didn't take him when we did this, because we were just going to visit family and had no plans to be tourists in our own area. Both my husband and I have been on this battleship numerous times; my husband even spent the night on it before (Boy Scouts do that throughout the year, which is awesome). We were driving by it, like we always do, and just decided to go in, since it had been a long time. So, I was so happy I had my Ironhide!

Wow, that must be a large purse to fit Hide in perfectly... the figure isn't a small bot, no matter he's in his alt mode or robot mode. Anyway, it's really lucky for Hide that you'd remembered to bring him when you went on the ship - he must be very thrilled to be brought to a magnificent battleship like this one! This picture is so awesome!
And wow, you've been to the ship numerous times? Goodness, that's so cool! I can't imagine the feeling of staying on a battleship like for a night. The experience is just too unrealistic to me. I don't think I can go to sleep well when I know the ship is actually a U.S. navy battleship with all these scary cannons...

The purse isn't really all that big. I can just barely get him into it and nothing else. It's the perfect hiding spot for him, as no one ever suspects
I wish I could get to spend the night on it. All of my brother have, and my husband. The Boy Scouts were the only ones allowed to do that when I was growing up. Now they let the Girl Scouts and other groups on. The waiting list is really long, like more than a year, I believe. Maybe one day I can be the leader of a scout troop and take my scouts to spend the night on the battleship. That'd be awesome

Actually, this ship is out of commission. It is open for tourists. It's never very crowded, so there wasn't very many people around when I took the photo.
